I remember in the SA1 when you did the ring dash you had those glowing lights surround you, but that never happened to me in SA2B. Is there a powerup or something that lets you do that? I'd like to use that dash to make me go faster, but whenever I press "B" my character slows down to do that rolling attack move (like with Shadow and the fire), or I have to stop completely and charge up to release. Please tell me if I'm missing something silly...I know it's been a long time since I've played.

@Tsutaru Lights don't surround Sonic while he dashes along the rings in SA1 or SA2. Lights would surround Sonic when he was done charging. There's no power up in SA2.

@SonicObsessed191 That still doesn't help me though .__. How are people "spin dashing" to go faster? I mean, I'll run through a level and press "B" button, but that just makes me go slower because he just does a little roll.

@Tsutaru just keep tapping the B button. Don't do it too fast in SA2 or you might end up summersaulting and ruining the speedrun

@Tsutaru I used to have that same problem. In SA2, to do a spin dash, you have to hold the B button to do the spindash. Unlike SA1, just pressing it will do the summersalt.

yeea change the music but fuckin WOW. Its great cuz u would picture the scenario of how sonic actually gets somewhere so fast even with his speed. Eggman says 8 minutes until the island blows up. A jungle doesnt stay a jungle sonic pulls moves like tht n he gets to where he needs to be in a minute or less. Yo tht fukin spin dash to thelutrun oojuu tr8 light speed dash on those rings was fukin beast. Now i see y eggman has so much trouble dealin with him

Awesome!, I know two shortcuts, one of them saves 1 second and the other like 4 or 5, that are incredible but its hard to explain...

Nah, the only trick I think can save time is doing the superbounce thing at 1:04 (instead of hitting the spring) so you can get to next spring faster. That would save around 1.5
