it looks really beautiful i like the couloured houses. Their skin is good too the cold must be good for it like apples in the fridge. It would be great to go to the shops on those skicars.
What time of year was this filmed? Maybe it's fall, as I see some daylight. The "Place Which Melts" is not melted, so it's safe to assume that this is not summer (I hope).
incredible.i see sadly that cocacola conquered the whole world.a place so far as greenland.pity.if we go to the moon to live there i am sure cocacola will be sold there and they will plant notices there advertising cocacola.pity and sad.
I would encourage Greenland to remain close to Denmark for protection. If Greenland's natural riches are not protected by an ethical patron, like Denmark, then it will be preyed upon by criminal governments, like the U.S.A. or Canada, for the benefit of their banks and global corporations.
Greenland must never allow its natural assets to be used as collateral for foreign credit. Such credit is the surest path to slavery, pollution, and ruin of what could have been a small but prosperous nation.
This is the best dokumentary film i've ever seen of Greenland. I am self from Greenland. Every any dokumentary shows Greenland from a negative side, but this really shows Greenland from the real side. It's Greenland everybody.
Little sad that the weather didn't show its best. But absolutly great clip.
Short clips more of daly public views desirable. Even this litle insufficient, are danish national television, DR-TV lightyear behind of this short Aljazeela programe. Thank you for your open mind.
However, I'd like to point out that this was Greenland ad it's coldest - in the wintertime. The land completely transforms in the (short) sommertime, thus the land will be totally free of snow/ice and it acually gets really (t-shirt-like) hot.
This is the first program I've ever seen on Greenland & did not know much about it. I'm glad to see that this is winter. I'm very surprised that it gets light out at all; I was expecting near pitch-dark, 24/7 in the winter. The daytime seems to get no darker than a cloudy, winter day in NYC.
Oh my lord, definitely wanna go there and experience all that fancy arctic dream right before Global warming ruin it for everybody. This programme is pretty amazing, kudos!
I enjoyed this immensely. Not only interesting and fascinating, but informative and educational as well! Kudos, AlJazeera for not posting something depressing (for once).
I didn't expect it, but this is one of the most fascinating documentaries i've seen. I never would have expected greenland to have such an interesting society.
nope, texas is doing relatively well compared to other states like california. but in remote desolate places like odessa they have a drug abuse and drinking problem like greenland. depends your environment i guess...
This Greenlandic people they look Thai ..

why would you want more inuits?
yoseph125 2 years ago
How come most of them look European? The Inuit are supposed to be 80% of the population. Did the Danes kill them off and raped their women or what?
jankren 2 years ago
I'm sure when they were filming it just happens to be more European looking Greenlandic that were filmed.
guitrgirl 2 years ago
they're mixed race ie "of greenlanic decent"

@jankren: I cant tell if thats a serious question or being incredibly rude and ugly.
As the person below said, i think its by change a lot of them in this video are more European looking.

Lovely programme, unlike DR1s disaster stories, which made our culture look like crap and the tourism fell.
Laughed a couple of times, and Kunuunnguaq was also good at what he did, as usual :)

I must point out that this introduction of Greenland is much better than that one I had watched on the danish TV

White man came and destroyed. Well done to white man for ruining people lives again.
What made me cry was the retreating glacier. Soon there will be no glaciers left and Greenland might, indeed, be green. Such a tragedy,

I liked how the young man highlighted how Europeans are wrecking an indigenous culture and people via their actions and power.

welcomegohome 3 years ago
Is it all u think about? Grugs and alcohol?
Do only Alaskan inuit and Canadian Inuit have those problems? No! What about u ? What about your country (If you r not from Alaska or Canada)...
Don't think that any1's perfect.
It's NOT only them who has problems...
Where ever you're from, u have problems 2 ...

You can shut your fucking face if you are going to act all superior because at the end of the day you live in the US.
