I grew up listening to this on the farm, its been many years the farm is under houses now ,my parents are gone,I really never knew what the song meant when I was a boy!
thank you for the upload we played this at my Grampys funeral and it brought back the sad memories but it also has that reminder that he is not in any more pain
Doves have always been my favorite and I always loved this song so I truly enjoyed watching the doves during the song. Thank you. I would have like to see a few more but I know you put a lot of work into. I appreciate what you did, again, thank you.
I loved this song at the sweet age of 16 and I played it so much that my sister broke the record. I was shattered and 40 yrs later I am able to listen to you once again on you tube
THIS SONG REMINDS ME OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES"TENDER MERCIES"...[SORRY BOUT THE CAPS..CATCH GRIEF WHERE EVER I GO...MY EYES ARE REALLY BAD..AIN'T ANGRY OR SHOUTING AT NO ONE!!
I listen to heavy metal, Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, ect...that being said I love this song. This was my grandparent's song. Last February my grandmother died and this was played at her funeral, and after a 63 yr marriage I watched my grandfather cry for the very first time. When we all went outside there was a white dove on the hearse. I'll never forget carrying my grandmother to the dove and thinking of this song. God bless her and may she rest in heaven. I love you Grandma
@capnkdawg is your grandpa doing fine now....is he living his life and having fun.... bc no joke that happened to my aunt on thursday funeral yesterday and they played that song... and my uncle had caught a white dove a whileago and is in his house ha...So is he fine now has he gotten over it???
@capnkdawg SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE/HAD WONDERFUL GRANDPARENTS...I LOST MY POP IN JULY 5 06 AND MOM IN JULY 08...SHE WAS CONSTANLY TRING TO FIND DAD..THEY WERE MARRIED IN 1942...DAD WENT TO WAR CAME BACK IN 45...THEY TOO WERE WONDERFUL CHRISTIAN PEOPLE...MAY GOD HELP,BLESS, AND GIVE US HIS PEACE....
@faroutlindsey Im sorry about that...Ive lost my Grandpa, and 2 uncles in the last 4 months and they played this song at all of their funerals at one point. It truly is a beautiful gospel song. =)
How encouraging to read this story! we had a similar bird experience when a fantail remained in the church prior to the service of an elderly friend who loved birds. It sat in the rafters (nobody could catch it or chase it out) and on the verse in 'How Great Thou Art' where it speaks of the birds singing in the trees - this bird burst forth into song. after the funeral it left of its own accord. God's messengers for sure!
