  • yeah it is boring....JUST KIDDING. THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME.

  • singapore

  • Tunnel boring machine aka. vibrator.

  • Great vid, wonder if anyone has tried to build a miniature one.

  • this is a wonderful video but the resolution is very low!

  • It as boring lol

  • amazing...

  • E-Berk Mechanical Metallurgy Company which has been producing spare parts and cutting tools for tunnel boring industry (tbm) established in 2002. There are several products for tunnel boring machines such as single and double cutter discs, ripper with tungsten carbide, cutting knife, bucket etc. have been produced in our company according to different geological conditions, highabrasion resistance and also with different hardness.

  • is this some kind of high-tech robotic penis design?

  • my ears is bleading

  • what else.. Swiss Made

  • @Mr5eXLove It is used in Switzerland and all over the world, but it is built in Germany

  • @lukapentsi

    ... scheisse xD

  • I'd bore that narrator alright

  • i searched for "boring" and i found this.. i am still bored

  • Holy Carp!!!! can you imagine, what one of these monsters COSTS??? How cool would it be to have one- you could have UNLIMITED living space, unbenownst to your neighbors!! :) Or, Big Brother. Of course, moving a 1300' long machine, might draw attention!

  • @Patriotgal1 Not only are they terribly expensive but, once used, they are never used again.

  • @MoltenPlastic - so, a surplus/used on should be cheap, right? :)

Just moving it would banckrupt most nations, methinks! (Sine the USA is already banckrupt- maybe the'll write a check for me?) LOLPIP!

  • The largest diameter TBM, at 15.43 m diameter, in Shanghai, China

  • @fdoca the largest TBM is 15.55 m, and is for the highway between Bologna and Florence in Italy, but the job start in 2011.

  • sure beats a Timex... ;)

  • Those things....are awesome...

DAMN! I had no idea that much was going on inside of them - WTF 410m long? o_O

    Absolutely brilliant inventions....

    ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY TBM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Congratulation to the people of Switzerland for you break through on having the Largest Tunnel in the world ………YOU GUYS ROCK!

  • German technology with Swiss precision ...

  • is a great machine

  • is the company going to break down the machine after finishing breakthrough?

  • Congrats to the Swiss for finishing the world record breaking tunnel!!!

  • thinking those people staying in the banks, buying and selling pieces of papers and earning 500 times what the engineers designing these mourvelous things earn, my balls don't stop to spin..

  • 55 ft/day earth penetration...:)

  • I love the ear splitting buzzing theyve put in this video, really adds to the experience.

  • That's a nice video..IT is difficult to see this in action in reality because this action will be under the ground

  • great video, now I know how this things move. great.

  • Hahaha, it is indeed a "boring" video. What'd you expect?

    Incredible machines. :)

  • i dun wanna be harsh but

    that really is boring.

    try smth better next time

  • oh the memories of being down the tunnel, lol

  • amazing

  • man its boring

  • da..da...daaanng

  • who came up with this DESIGN? how GENIUS !

  • omg

  • Amazing!

  • Sxy stuff

  • Oh man, how BORING!

  • isn't it more simple to use 20 lemmings??

  • Robinson TBM's are the go - Ethan Stripeikis - Mconell Dowell - Bogong Power Hydro Electric project

  • hi, the movies is excellent, thanks ★★★★★

  • Many simple parts

  • If you have a rockface, and I have a 4 football field long TBM, then my TBM reaches across the terrain, and I, grind, your rockface...I GRIND IT UP!

  • I've seen this in discovery channel! This machine is very complex in its design!

  • so sexy, i am gonna order one for my wife.

  • yes it cost a lot. im working as an electrician on the world'sno1 tbm manufacturer, its a lot of hard work. it a work of art even if it's not yet in action. and no, it thus not bore vertically.

  • lol thus =/= does

  • core mantle crust concept is flawed, they think that just because the electromagnets they built are made of iron they believe so is the earths core, theres a couple problems with this model, first its not proven, like the planetismal impact theory, second it would require an ENOURMOUS electricall currant to make a magnetic field extend even a few yards from a conducter, the so called scientists never like to explain were such and immense current would come from, i hope i gave you food for thought

  • At the Kola hole, scientists expected to find 4.7 km of metamorphosed sedimentary and volcanic rock, then a granitic layer to a depth of 7 km (the 'Conrad discontinuity'), with a basaltic layer below it. The granite, however, appeared at 6.8 km and extends to more than 12 km; no basaltic layer was ever found! Seismic-reflection surveys, in which sound waves sent into the crust bounce back off contrasting rock types, have detected the Conrad discontinuity beneath all the continents,

  • but the standard interpretation that it represents a change from granitic to basaltic rocks is clearly wrong. Metamorphic changes brought about by heat and pressure are now thought to be the most likely explanation.there is no evidense that the mantle is made of molten rock,in fact the lithosphere wich was previosly thought to be a layer was, through siesmography to actually consist of aethenospheric LENSES,that

  • monster

  • It must cost a lot :P

  • boring...

  • thank you so much for posting this vid, it answered alot of questions me and my group had.

  • if you aimed this straight down could you create a volcano?

  • Clearly you didn't watch the video. The machine's function obviously depends on gravity - you can't just "point it down".

  • Well maybe if someone stole its lunch money first, or everyone forgot its birthday, that might do the trick.

Y'know, cuz those are really big downers!

  • qu1j0t3 just took you to school, mozkill!

  • I think only the immediate transport of rock fragments from the cutting heads depend on gravity. If you could suck them up, then maybe you could bore straight down. But if you want to bore through the Earth's continental crust into the upper mantle to form a volcano, I think gravity would be the least of your issues, and you'd have far more problems to solve related to pressure, heat, giant reptiles and Count Saknussem, that dastardly cad.

  • i have been working with these for a long time. the only way to go straight down. would to put it together vertically.

  • 1994. The drilling of this and other deep and superdeep wells has produced one surprise after another, and the findings have been extremely embarrassing for earth scientists [1]. One scientist commented: 'Every time we drill a hole we find the unexpected. That's exciting, but disturbing.' And a science reporter remarked: 'Kola revealed how far from truth scientific theory can roam

  • As a engineer this video is awesome truly and awesome machine

  • well, I was going to call this video boring, but it looks like you all beat me to it, crap! I'm outta puns...

  • Boring video too...

  • Amazing! Very informative.

  • This video just answered every question i had about the TBM's, thanks for the post, well worth the watch !

  • Boring is boring!^^

  • god that is pathetic, you beleive in something so stupid and if my brother sees on that says you are going to die he has nightmares i mean he is six years old!!! pathetic

  • God, that's one boring machine!

  • ZING!!

  • I'm gonna buy one of these for christmas and then put nitros in it forget 40 meters per day try 400 miles per hour.

  • veey short and sweet demo of TBM functioning i liked it

  • I just watched it again, this video is just so excellent, just marvellous.

  • That machine is not at all boring.

  • @TubeDupe

    ba-dum CHHH!

  • @TubeDupe Definitely not :)

  • Fantastyczne-świetnie pojaśnione.Pozdrowienia dla ekipy AGH(GIG-BUDOWNICTWO).Schöne grüsse für alle erd-Ingenieur!Greetings for all ground-engineer!:Dipol from Poland

  • i live and work in london, and the tunnell game is a closed shop, they are an ignorant bunch of people to work with who think that they are important,ie murphys etc, in reality they are just a bunch of irish ass lickers

  • WOW!!! this video is awesome. i work with tbm's and this is the best explanation of thier functioning i have ever seen. GREAT JOB

  • Surely all of America is veined with underground tunnel systems that we(the people)don't know about.

    Comments?

  • Well in some cases, yes that true. take for instance when wealthy people want a private 5 mile tunnel on thier ranch to connect them with thier rich ass relatives. (as seen in washington) lol. but mainly tunnels are used for transportation, water systems, ect. so you are maybe a quarter right bro

  • AWESOME! I want to work with that :)

  • its not easy work bro. Ive been doing it for about a year and have 2 slipped discs in my back. its always wet and I keep a sinus infection. it looks cool though.

  • Groovy to the max!!

  • good

  • most informative!
