I've got a question, ace: You're using game maker from what i understand, and i'm also using GM (8.0 Pro) to make my fangame. How did you go about implementing the classic laser? I'm having some trouble implementing it myself -- Currently, it behaves more like a awful chinese knockoff of the Classic Laser.

No version of Unofficial Salamander 3 is compatible with joysticks. The only way to make the game work with joysticks is with Joy2Key.

Those ships are a little harder to use, though. The Lord British has more speed than any of the other ships, while the Falchion Beta's Armor is weaker than the other ships. Just thought I'd let you know.

In Unofficial Salamander 3, all except for 2 are from Gradius Gaiden: Metalion(Gradius 2 on the MSX) and Super Cobra(Salamander 2). Those same ships reappear in Gradius: The Dark Armada, but have other ships from Salamander MSX, Gofer no Yabou Episode 2(MSX), Solar Assault(arcade) and the Bolt Viper from a fangame named Salamander Neo(details on GameStone's forum), as well a ship exclusive to Gradius: The Dark Armada in the roster of ships(11 total).

That's because Gradius: The Dark Armada is in development. That is my rendition of Gradius VI(I don't want to use that name for the title, so Gradius: The Dark Armada is the official title of my next Gradius fangame). You'll have to wait a few months before Beta 1 of Gradius: The Dark Armada is complete. I have a long overdue update to Unofficial Salamaner 3 to finish, so once that's done, all the attention will be shifted to Gradius: The Dark Armada.

The game wasn't designed to be used with a joystick. In order to use a joystick, you need to download Joy2Key and map your joystick's buttons to the keyboard's Up, Down, Left, Right, Z, X, and C keys. Gradius: The Dark Armada has that same scheme, but also allows for use of a joystick for 2-player cooperative gameplay.

I've tried beta 1 ^_^

it looks too easy and double bigcore mk-i was too easy also .

you need to make double bigcore mk-i attacks more randomly and also when he uses his special attack there is an opened spot up and below him that i can evade it's attack too easy .

also you need to make his normal rapid laser attack faster i mean he should rapid fire it faster like from 1 second then he shoots it again every 1 second ..... i want it like 0.500 per second to make him more difficult in loop 1 ^_^

Well, Stage 1 is supposed to be the easiest overall, so I decided to make the stage and the Double Big Core Mark I easier than the other bosses. Play the Preliminary Build. It's more complete than Beta 2 and Beta 3(contains 7 stages).

it seems that you took gradius gaiden - slamander and gradius ships to be added at the same time good job on that ^_^

oh by the way did you added any gradius v bosses or gradius gaiden bosses like :

1- deltatry

2- neo-bigcore

3- bigcore mk-iii

4- bigcore riv 1.2

Yes, I have Big Core Mark 1 Revision B from Gradius V. HOWEVER, you have to guess what's the boss I've used from Gradius Gaiden. It's TOP SECRET(this might tip you off to what the boss is). If you REALLY want to know, send me a message, I DO NOT want to reveal the Gradius Gaiden boss publicly.

FYI, those bosses I mentioned are part of the Boss Rush(Stage 14), which includes 10 bosses from previous Gradius games.
