It's just a sport dude, don't knock it until you try it. At first glance, surfing looks faggy as hell to me, although I bet there is a lot more to it than meets the eye. Same with grappling. Millions of people don't do it just for shits and giggles, it's fun and exciting.
I never understood why guys like this stuff. I mean I understand it takes skill to know how to wrangle someone's body into a knot, but it's just kinda....gay
