this interview feels shallow and false. i love chris' music and i think he is something of a genius. but, in this interview, somethings missing!

towards the end of the vid, timbaland goes on about being a composer. i hate it when technicians take themselves too seriously. without talented performers in the studio, timbaland is just some lonely guy sitting in an empty room with a lot of expensive equipment.

Like an album or don't like an album, but don't try to dictate what an artist is supposed to sound like for their entire career!! Only other musicians can understand that we change. Chris made an awesome point! The idea that you can make music out of any sound (which is actually more of an 'Industrial' approach to creating music!) instead of using conventional ways! Now, I doubt Chris cares for the 'thug/gangsta/pimp' themes of most hip-hop, but still digs the creative music behind them.

in all honesty, you can't accuse him of selling out. To "sell-out" implies that he's trying to appeal to the largest market possible to make money.... I think we can all agree that, for him, that market is composed of SG, Audioslave and Chris Cornell (the good albums) fans. So, if you think about it, he's doing the opposite by releasing something that appeals to few in that category. I really do think he's an artist who's past work is enough for us to shut up and let him try something new.
