Khmers are very poor, they dont have funds or big tourism like Thai people do to promote such an art. But whatever Thai people are using now as kickboxing originally came from the Khmers. Thai people have always claimed everything that Khmer people do and have, belong to them; including the country of Cambodia itself. I heard about that. Thais been wanting to promote Muay Thai further by holding matches with Cambodia for a while now. It isn't because the Cambodian fighters are afraid of Thai fighters. If they were to have a slug fest with every single one of the fighters in the episodes theyd probably get very badly hurt considering they only train a week and then fight masters in the sport. I think this show is great but it's a little bit unfair for the locals martial artists. In fact they are obviously told to go easy with the foreigners. If they do not there would be no more show nevertheless both hosts have to go full power to survive and the local martial artists cannot lose because of honour matters. Example: not injure or kill the host,support the credibility of the host physical shape and skills etc... Great show, but the final fights are never 100% they just do a demonstration of a real tournament fight
