@TheSalamanderman i have this stock on my 870 with the cheek riser, it will bruise your cheek if you don't practice with it a while, it tends to change the recoil from going back to going up when it reaches the end of it's little track. if you choose to add the riser make sure you get a strong cheek weld or it will punch you, especially if you're using alot of high brass shells.keep in mind my experience is with the riser, without it i don't see you having that problem.
@TheSalamanderman Well, that is a good question, because I have long arms I have mine extended and that is the only way I have used it. It was ok then, but don't know about closed.
