History tells us that The bible was conpiled to calm the Christians under Roman rule to avoid an uprising. That same uprising Jesus was predicted to bring about (wrongfully). I go to a Methodist Church "stay over" Camp every year in Leesburg, Florida every summer. I was always brought up a christian but as a younger kid I hadn't ever really come to god so to speak. Three years ago at that Camp when I was 12 year old boy I was sitting on the dock and the band was playing this very song when I devoted my life to Christ! Thumbs up for Jesus!

We don't really know what Jesus said, because the gospels were anonymous recording of oral tradition in flux about a suicidal man who thought he died to save us from the terrorist of the skies who will burn us in hell if we don't believe stories named after apostles 100 years after Jesus died.
Hillsong is one of the main reasons I came to Christ. They have such a powerful message in their music and ministry. Salvation is truly here, no one can deny me that. The Lord sent his only begotten son to us and Jesus died for all of our sins. If you don't believe that, then I'm puzzled why you would be on here arguing with those who do. I'm witnessing to anyone who doubts that the Lord is God, faith is not something that is intellectually gained; its given by the Holy Spirit.

@BomimoDK my source is the passion the people show for the love of Christ. I am a praise leader. I admit that I dont read the bible everyday. I try. Even if the bible is only a minimal amount of what happened before and after christ, it is probably the most important of them all.

Provided that you do not just gobble it up as the whole truth. One should always read between the lines and see if things fit before accepting it. The salvation story is not true. It does n`t make sense. The cross is foolishnes to those who perish.... etc. Furthermore salvation is all about saving man`s immortal soul. Yet, the concept of the" immortal soul" was introduced by Tertullian around 200 years after Christ. Nowhere in the scriptures is there anything about an " immortal soul". Oh that bass solo is not that difficult :) I had to learn it last sunday morning (around 1:45 am) and while a bit tricky, it's defintely do-able for any intermediate bassist (even a beginner if you want to put in some serious time learning it haha)

People like you only ever end up creating headaches for everyone else with wishful thinking and having to adapt and make everything "fit" with inacurate script. Religion doesn't have to be in everything that happens to make sense. Jesus didn't die so you can freak out at everything in the history of gods universe and try to cram it into biblical context.

Provided that you do not just gobble it up as the whole truth. One should always read between the lines and see if things fit before accepting it. The bible you're sitting with is only 1/100th of scripts and records of what has or seems to have transpired in the relationship between man and god. There are 10s of gospels accounting for Jesus that were cut, 100s of old testament-esque myths that were burned, even the Judas Gospel was disposed of due to inconvenient angles. You get my drift? Christianity is a mess, we don't need more adaptive nonsense.

William Lane Craig wrote reasonable faith. dont knock it simply because hes a christian. in his book Reasonable Faith, he uses more logic than bible to argue the existence of God. Watch his debate against christopher hitchens at biola university and listen to him have arguments ten times more convincing than hitchens (an atheist). stop attacking christianity unless you have a convincing and logical argument. christians are not people who are simply "nice" and who think that all is love

The salvation story is not true. It does n`t make sense. The cross is foolishnes to those who perish.... etc. Furthermore salvation is all about saving man`s immortal soul. Yet, the concept of the" immortal soul" was introduced by Tertullian around 200 years after Christ. Nowhere in the scriptures is there anything about an " immortal soul". Isn`t that convincing that salvation is fantasy ?

For every negative media report, thousands of positive and wonderful things people do on a daily basis go unreported. But you will never notice if you cling to a dogma that preaches the depravity of man.

You can be 99% virtuous but Christianity will blind it's followers to that and focus on your 1% frailty. You could not invent a more skewed and pessimistic approach to value judgement.
Of course this is done intentionally. If you are convinced of your own depravity you are much easier to control and submit.

Guys christianity has been celebrated long before the Europeans recieved the gospel . In Ethiopea I visited a church which has exised for 1600yrs , long before Europeans were even civilised . So the histpry of our beautiful faith has been amongst us for a long time . Oh that bass solo is not that difficult :) I had to learn it last sunday morning (around 1:45 am) and while a bit tricky, it's defintely do-able for any intermediate bassist (even a beginner if you want to put in some serious time learning it haha)

This is soo corny! EVERYTIME I come to a hillsong, there's always a war about the existence of God... Christians: Stop arguing with Christians.. If a non christian is asking a simple question and is curious, answer with Love and gentleness (Ephesians4:2) but if a non-christian wants to instigate by posting an obscure comment, then just don't answer and let them say what they want.. You're only hurting yourself and bringing down the Name of Jesus when you retailate.. this is what they want!

I don't know wny they are on the sight in the first place except the Lord has drawn them, but responding only gets ugly.
