Now. What if this research for the disabled to control artificial limbs using their brain is in fact really perfecting how to effectively control the mind via device?
I am just wondering how much this accident would affect the future research regarding mind controlled devices..it is already the subject of my master thesis.. Hopefully we find out what had been the real causes of that crash as soon as possible.
@janderson2000 Seriously, they must have tested the arms pretty thoroughly before letting him drive. You're saying you will believe it was the arms' fault, no matter what people might find out - I say that's moronic.
@jlehtira That's because you are a gullible fool. The only way I would believe it wasn't a technological issue is if they find he was drunk...which they won't. It was too soon to let him drive. It was done for the ego of the scientists, not the safety of him (or the public.)
@janderson2000 Right, he got the hands, and after 10 months of testing passed the driving test and got a special Subaru. If you have perfect knowledge that 10 months was too little, maybe you can tell us all what's the minimum requirement and why? People get into accidents for other reasons too. And this guy originally lost his arms through his own stupidity - maybe this accident was just more of the same. I refuse to believe anything about how this happened - how exactly is that gullibility?
@jlehtira Yes, maybe 10 years. There's absolutely no reason to put the public's life at risk with such experimental and new technology. 10 months is rushing it to a ridiculous degree. I bet they made him sign a release of liability to drive on those artificial arms at his own risk. Too bad nobody else on the road with him had any say.
man, that really sucks. Hindsight is 20/20 people. blaming and accusing can't do anything now. In a way, he died to advance science, and to help people with his same situation. If I were him I would be proud of that.
@silentf0e Bwahahah I laughed so hard when I heard he died. First the cunt blows his arms off climbing a high voltage tower for a dare, most likeley drunk. The fuckwit should have been killed then, someone stupid enough to do that deserves death.
Then he crashes his car driving with the prosthetic arms he didn't deserve in the first place.
I hope the arms survived so they can be donated to someone who deserves them.
@kweerb8 Hi died a few days ago in a car crash. He crashed into a tree. "So far, no statement has been released regarding the cause of the crash or whether there was any failure on the part of the bionic arm."
It was irresponsible to give a driving license to a man with an only prototype of computer controlled prosthetic arm. Technology may be good but first versions always suffers from bugs and malfunctions. The manufacturer of this device should clearly say in the instructions if driving a car is permitted or not with this new technology.
@mnikita123 bugs and malfunctions will always remain and be a factor, can be reduced but wear & tear is unbeatable , i think its great he past his test , drove a Subaru with pride which im sure gave him alot of self esteem and thats the point of quality of life doing what makes you happy ,the alternative was being miserable in a box being spoon fed baby food for the rest of his life, these things will never be suitable for contentious complicated tasks its a choice and risk the individual takes
they sound like nazis, lol joking.

Why the fuck did they let him drive? Jesus Christ. "Hmmm....brand new technology...let's put it to a life and death test right away."
Luckily he didn't kill anybody else. If they determine it wasn't because of his arm, I will call absolutely bullshit.
