THe current incarnation of Jeopardy!, in its first season then, probably was helped because of this shows' cancellation. ABC gave the 4PM time slot back to the networks when this show ended. WABC in NYC picked up Jeopardy! from WNBC(who was airing it after Letterman/Friday Night Videos in late nights) and put it at 4PM. Right around this time, Alex Trebek said(in the 1990 Jeopardy! book that he co-wrote) that he was looking for J! on his local station and found a Quincy rerun in that time slot.
I thought the Raven and Sky scene would be more dramatic, but Raven was smiling. This was a pretty good finale though, which the show was either still on or had re-runs. It would be great for TV Land or SoapNet.
I miss this show. It was so much fun. From the Sky Whitney/Raven/Jeff Brown story to the late great Davin Froman as the fantastic Gunther/Bruno to the cliffhanger ending on 12/28/84; always a pleasure. I also remember the exact moment Reagan was shot as the news interrupted Jeff Brown(as Sky) was about to push Raven off of a snow mountain.
The legal owners of this show should put this classic show on a DVD collection, so that it's fans can relive decades worth of great memories ! Geraldine (LOIS KIBBE) was my favorite !
@fairnorth Indeed, it would be sofa-king awesome to see whatever un-erased episodes of Edge of DVD. Sooooo, sick of seeing CSI, Friends, Twilight advertised on DVD. Bring something that's actually not groomed to the dumbing down of America and the cell-phone, Starbucks drinking, under 30 crowd.
Amen to that! Something intelligent, with good writing, that isnt so bland that you could watch any episode out of sequence and get pretty much the same thing! Its really sad that P@G is just sitting on classic television like this and not letting people see it! You'd think that if they're complaining about how costly the production of daytime dramas has become (thus the cancellation of EON, GL, AW, and now ATWT), then they'd try to cash in on them with the sale of old episodes!
Amen, Amen, and Amen to that, @softwater88. I couldn't have said it better myself. I am over 30 (and over 40) and I watch ONLY classic TV. It's a shame there is so little of it on television nowadays, so we have to look to DVD and Youtube to find the shows we love.
This would be a perfect opportunity for Proctor And Gamble and CBS to resurecte this Crime Drama Soap The Edge Of Night back to Daytime Television and would even be a perfect replacement for the now cancelled Guiding Light.
I remember watching the last four episodes on WOST. I thought it was very clever how they used "Alice in Wonderland" to end the series. It was like the whole series was a dream.
Forrest Compton almost wound up on Another World in a regular role when they were going to bring on Mac's brother Alfred as a regular but that was scrapped. He did play him for one episode in 1987.
Great mystery soap.

Anybody know the classical music that is playing in the beginning of this scene? It is so familiar!

@Original007 I'm pretty sure it's the theme music from Sophie's Choice.
