  • yep

    fantastic

  • Al Green was Fine back in the day!

  • @LUVCHILD1986 That's right. Al and Marvin Gay. GREATEST

  • @LUVCHILD1986 i was thinking the same thing.

  • The Man

  • Voice from the heavens

  • It doesn't seem like I come across many singers today who can perform live at this quality

  • Another #1 hit for Al Green on the Rhythm & Blues charts. This was the 258th #1 R&B song of the Rock Era. It also hit #3 on the Top 40 charts.

  • I can't get this song stuck out of my head. This is a shot out to a friend of mine who I am in love with, a very special woman in my life that I can see spending all of eternity with like mentioned in this song. Tired of being friends, and I am tired of being alone, except she is in love with someone else. In love with another woman and it is breaking my heart. She said she is going to break up with her girlfriend, I hope she does I don't know what i'd do without her.

  • My favourite ever Al Green, he is still a sensational singer his voice never faulters. Thanks for so much pleasure Al.

  • Al Green...sexy, soulful, smooth vocals ~ spanned decades...that's what defines a classic! Lovin' him since the 70s! so lovely to listen to him...

  • The good ol days

  • The audience sucked ass.... They could not comprehend the lyrical genius they were bearing witness to!! Just sitting there like fucking store window dummies. Al, we love your contribution to real music as we know it and thanx so much for blessing us with your talent. After we lost Sam Cooke, you took ahold of Soul music and did it proud!!

  • @Agent4Wisdom I think he's hypnotized them and they CAN'T move. They look very into him to me. He has everyone in that room's complete attention.

  • Out of all the stuff I listened to growin up ...jazz, blues and soul were my first loves. I remember sitting with my sis listenin to the local soul station ( they still play "classic" soul) and we would wait for Al Green songs. My sis introduced me to so much in life and music was a huge thing. We really loved hearin Al green. We loved him. Still do. SO lovely and real and magical and all the pretty things you need in a song. He makes the day. I miss those times with my sis. Thanks for this.xx

  • Oh my! Did I and do I love this song..it was his greatest! Wonder where you are now Lois? I still feel those lips as you kissed me under the street lamp on Kings Highway in B'klyn with this song playing on the radio of my old Fairlane and the streetlamp's light illuminated those beautiful hazel gold eyes! Al..you will always be the man!

  • Brother Al Green...I dig them Threads!

    Hella of a voice!

  • Curb your enthusiasm brough me here! Love Larry David

  • Al Green is the king.

  • Don't Al sound great live, he was real no studio tricks.

  • @barnabas50 This sounds as good as the album version. I mean just the sound and the overall quality. It's crazy... Real talent, real shit. Amazing...

  • For The Good Times

  • A turtleneck never looked so good!!!

  • Clean and killin' it. Luv from StL (Go Cardinals) lol

  • dammit if its one thing I hate seeing is a dead audience!!

  • @macksun You know sometimes its just good to sit and listen to the music. Does' t mean you're dead you're just appreciative. Some music is just mesmerizing and places you in a cool laid back hypnotic zone. This song does that for me too. PLUS its TV and back then sometimes they wanted full focus on the Artist and not a loud audience for its inside taping. I say just chill and enjoy.

  • Al Green was and always will be one of the greatest singers of all time. Few people then and especially now can walk up to the mike and sing live and sound as good as the original recording like Al could.

  • check out the bling on Al's right wrist

  • dis song reminds me when i used to lowride pretty strong back in Westminster.lil''dreamer orange county locos

  • My favorite Al Green song of all time! Still love you after 40 years --and I stop in my tracks every time I hear your voice....

  • the people in the audience remind of the students from soil science lectures i attended in college.

  • Beautiful

  • Check out the complexion of the audience. How long have our degenerate children been studying us? They are now great at imitating us (Elvis Presley, M&M, Christina Agueliera, J-Lo, Pink, etc. But ain't nothing like the original. They just won't give us the credit. Fuck 'em. We ar the best at what ever we attempt. That's why doors must slam in our faces. We'd take it over. Basketball, golf, football, soccer--all entertainment. Second 2 none.

  • @samella35 TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN! I AGREE!

  • Amazing singer :)

  • I miss the 70's awesome music,,Al Green of course on top of my memory

  • This is my outro for the night when i'm throwing down my music!! I grew up with Marvin, Stevie and Al. See a Michigan connection? Go Blue!!

  • Oh Boy- his voice gives me chills, brings me in the mood, makes me wanna scream. What a mighty good voice.

  • votes are in... Pimp of the century, the clothes , the swag, the talent

  • @bryan4cicely Hahaha sure is. Old school's where it's at.

  • thats the shit right there

  • @weedman6926 hahaha

  • god this mans voice.... it does things to me!!!!!!

  • IM WHITE AND I THINK CALL ME WAS THE BEST ALBUM EVER!

  • @Thakortnie shouldn't matter what color you are!

  • The audience was a little stiff lol...juuuust A LOT.

  • @seqalive - The audience was listening. That is the lost art today.

  • the energy of Power!

  • Cannot compare him to anyone nowdays to sweet talking.

    Have Mercy!

    No, no, comparison!!!!

  • THE GREATEST!!!

  • its 3 bitches

  • Al be laying it down, lol. One of the best in soul music.

  • al green is one of the best, no doubt. but he does have a dark past that he turned around when he became the reverend al green. as far as all the comments on the audience, who the fuck cares? just listen and enjoy. we who grew up in that time were truly blessed with the infancy of rock and roll and all the different ways it was being played. yes, this is soul, but soul is part of rock and roll. there were less color boundaries in the 70s music than there is today, and that is sad.

  • Wanna dance?

  • @judyblueeyes yes, thank you.

  • @tlynch1218 :))

  • soul soul soul soul soul soul that is whats missing today

  • Front row tickets. Oklahoma City 1974. White suit. "A" on one lapel. "G" on the other. Whoa.

  • His live performances are awesome..The greatest to ever step to the microphone!!! I am glad I had the chance to hear his songs and performances..

  • I saw Al Green back in 1971 or 72, in concert at the Garden St Arts Center in Jersey with 103 fever, no way was I going to miss it. I was 18 and everytime I hear him the memories just come right back. This is what music sounds like. Making love to your girl with his songs Homerun.

  • @MrCoolbreeze03 Wow! If he could sing that good with 103 fever, imagine how well he'd do at 98.6!

  • Al-Gritts, the man with the music plan, listening to his jams in the early 1970;'s, and now at 43 his music still makes me move...thnx for posting

  • 3 people oughta be somewhere else

  • You can be with me until I die. After 13 yrs 3 beautiful children all of the sudden it's over. That's right Walk awaY AND YOUR BACK..............

  • Pure, unadulturated, soul!!!

  • Al 'Grits' Greene is one of the few old schoolers left that still has his voice after 40+ years. Brother can bleat now!

  • What a great song! Take me back to a once upon a time time.

  • how could you just sit there, his music makes u what to giggle.

  • how could you just there, his music what you giggle.

  • In this context--a black man singing to white people, including many women, about sex and love--the song turns into an interracial love plea. One more reason to love it.

  • i guess nobody wanted to be with the 2 people who gave the video thumbs down.

    be blessed

  • @CreamyButta I think they had dyslexia and messed up when they meant to push thumbs up!

  • what's that face at 27 seconds - so cute!!

  • i use to dream about him!!!

  • sound as good as it did in 1972

  • I'm so glad i grew up listening to awesome music....

  • Thank you for posting this wonderful video

I Love ya Al Green - thanks for the good music.
