I can't stand those US indicator "whistle-like" sounds. The lantern, I will agree with crapper1, is pleasant though.

Yes, I find the lantern tone to be pleasant, even if it's a little shrill.

just as bad as gluses floor chime i dont see how the designers came up with the idea of high pitched tones but the latern tone is very pleasnt

Yes, the buzz on US elevators are ear-piercing, and I think ThyssenKrupp derived the Aurora button design from US Elevator.
