  • i have the best recipe EVER it goes like this:

    step #1: get about 5$

step #2: drive/rin to the store and get ice cream!! srry but i love your vids but this one takes too long! id rather buy ice cream than wait a day!

  • @allyhearts1 lol Great recipe! I use that one at times too.

  • @kooktocook i try that one also but its not as fun as making it! :)

  • @allyhearts1 LOL nice 1 . i would still try it though

  • well if im ever in the snow, i know what im making for dessert ;D

  • Lol u frose it outside

  • when i was a kid in elementry school a long time ago in the 90s we did this... but our recipie was just this from 0:05 milk sugar salt and vanilla extract (the bottle liquid form) when we put the mixture in baggies, and put ice in an even bigger bag and loaded the ice with salt (to make it stay cooler longer) and shoke for 15min and we did it. I forgot the recepi then i found ur video. O_o i bet ur recipi is better..u have every thing lol subbed lol

  • @True2TheBlueYoViGang I am familar with that recipe. It works for a basic ice cream. This is the old traditional method used by our great, great grandparents. Thank you for subbing, much appreciated. cheers, KtC

  • hi would it work if i added fruit to make different flavours or would that spoil it? thanx :)

  • @emma870508 I would skip the vanilla part and add an 'extract' (banana? mint?) for a different flavour. Probably would be fine with the vanilla in there too actually. The ice cream may not freeze properly with large amounts of fruit or puree. Perhaps a bit?

I have used the extract though and even a drop of food colouring. Add any extracts, colouring after the very last step. Then freeze.

    cheers, KtC

  • @kooktocook ok thank u im trying it now :)

  • ice ice baby

  • yumy

  • love ice cream

  • YAY CANADA!!!!

-Love from California, where we can cook eggs on the sidewalk in the summer.

  • @xdeathisrighttherex Important to take advantage of the weather at times. I save money (electricity) on the beer fridge during the winter lol

    cheers from Canada! KtC

  • It is amazing how humans gradually discovered how to make the difficult treat known as ice cream.

I have an ice cream maker, and it does not always come out right. I am going to try it without the maker next time.

    Cheers!

  • Same here, I love our natural freezer :D

  • hahah lovely freezer

  • @junella623 Funny now but in a couple of months it kind loses the humour lol

It certainly works. It was colder than the freezer that day. cheers, KtC

  • it's genius. Your recipe is the first one that doesn't need an ice-cream maker. faved for the pure awesomeness and convenience

  • @HO1ySh33t This is an old recipe handed down. I have made it many times over the years. One of those recipes that once learned just kind of stays with you. cheers, KtC

  • would 2 cups of heavy whipping cream work?

  • @EckoOwnage Hi! yes, it is the same thing. 35% (milk fat) is a heavy cream usually used for dessert toppings. cheers, KtC

  • i love your episodes vvery much!

  • @Jboy235 Hi! Thanks a bunch, I enjoy making them for you! Have a great day! KtC

  • i know its awesome and all to have ice cream and be able to freeze it outside but.. why would you even eat ice cream when its that cold outside LOL

  • @stormspike21 Me!

  • how about no eggs...

  • @maejoyable Older recipes use the eggs to add a more creamy texture and to hold it all together (a basic frozen custard really with cream added). You need the eggs for this one or you just have frozen cream. Typically most of the better manufactured ice cream will contain dry egg powder. There are recipes without the eggs but they tend to require the machines and are really not the same thing as this (this is a very old traditional recipe). cheers! KtC

  • Wow...one of the fastest demonstration of how to make homemade ice cream i have seen...good job! Would love to be able to put a bowl out in the snow like that...the old fashioned method...ha ha ha

  • hey can i use enything else like instead of vanilla

  • After the last step stir in any extract you would like (banana and almond are good). KtC

  • thanks!

  • ive been wathing all ur vids but u dont always put measurement doen so what would be perfect is if u could put down to recipe or at least the amounts of everything u used i the box where u describe the video

  • lol yes, it is now set at about -16C (great for ice cream). cheers! KtC

  • you`re awesome...i have tried 4-5 recipes of yours and they all turned out excellent. thanks :D

  • Thank you, I have enjoyed making them :) (let me know the ones that don't, sometimes it takes a few tries). cheers! KtC

  • then thanks a lot to your genius grandma and of course thanks a lot to you for posting it :)

  • anytime :)

  • very genius and very easy thanks a lot

  • This is an old recipe from great grandma's vault. Tradional and basic. Enjoy the treat! KtC

  • what if i only have vanilla extract, will that work too?

  • I made this a few weeks ago and used a banana extract. A friend of mine tried an almond extract and tossed some almonds in there. **Skip the step with the vanilla pod. After the very last step stir in the vanilla extract (or the almond extract/ almonds as my friend did). I would use about a tablespoon.

It will be really fancy though if you had the vanilla pod ;)

    bon chance! KtC

  • Cool! I just made Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies yesterday....I don't like raisins...so I supplemented it with chocolate chips.....and i'm going to use the extra chocolate chips to top with my vanilla ice cream. Hungry now? lol

  • is all ice cream made with eggs?? if not how can you do it with out it?

  • This is a type of frozen cream custard and is typical of an older 'country' style of ice-cream. You need the eggs for this one. An ice cream making machine is how most folks 'today' would make it. cheers! KtC

  • There are a few homemade ice cream vids on YT. (Of course I highly recommend this one). enjoy, KtC

  • PLEASE tell me is that 2 cups of cream=500ml added at the end , what does 35% mean?

Thanks , i can't wait to make this for the family.

    xoxo

  • Hi! yes, 500ml. of cream. 35% is the amount of Milk Fat (M.F.). Milk is around 2%, cream 18%, heavy cream (or whipping cream) 31% to 40%. Will vary in parts of the world. You will want to buy 'whipping cream' NOT 'whip cream'. It may be available under the brand name 'Red Man' (not sure). Imported from Singapore. You can get this in H.K. You may have to buy a litre (make two batches). Have fun! KtC

  • I dont know if I dare to do this, because I hate cream(yes Im weird) and last time i did my own ice cream it all tasted like cream. Yuck!! But this looks so good and easy to do!

  • perhaps prepare and share with someone? It is heavy on the cream :) thank you, KtC

  • I made the ice cream now its in my freezer well since I dont cook heres to hoping it comes out well.

  • That looked sooo GOOD! It looks pretty easy to make also! Good video.

  • Thank you. It is easy and something different to do. Quite tasty too! KtC

  • can you use vanilla from a bottle and if so, what amount?

  • yes certainly. add 1 tbsp. when you add the cream (last step). cheers! KtC

  • Aw, you get to use snow, I am forced to use a **** old freezer that need repairing, but thanks tho, the fridge may be bad but still the may u showed how to make ice cream it's awesome, but funny tho I wanted to make a banasplit but i accedently grabbed platain then banana eh same thing ,but try it tho!

  • awesum!!

  • Gotta love that freezer :)

  • In many parts of Canada, we have unlimited freezer space. Just set the bowl out in ur back yard for an hour or two.

    Good one.

  • I have to watch the beer from freezing out in the garage at times. thanks bud, cheers!

  • ya that;s what i do with fruits

  • love it! I am already thinking about adding some orange extract and pieces of dates to this recipe, to get an exotic ice cream :-)

    love the freezer :-p

  • I love it! Great idea. I have some banana extract I was thinking of trying next time. thank you Alia, have a great day! KtC

  • Looks great Kook! Yeah, you definitely need some whipped cream and a cherry! :-)

  • I want a freezer just like yours KtC!!!! Hahaha!

  • Loads of room for everything :-) KtC

  • i dont eat sweets, but that looks awesome!!!

  • Thank you, I really enjoyed this recipe. Have a great day, cheers! KtC

  • don't you get sick from eating that cause you put in raw eggs or does the heated mixture cook it when you pour it in? o.0

  • when was raw eggs unhealthy? Havent you seen atheletes break eggs place in a glass and drink it. Thats more raw than what happened in this video. Basically people eat raw eggs for the pure protein it gives instead of cooking it with fat. You can eat eggs raw, eating beef raw is something else, e coli and whatnot.

  • i thought you get salmonella from eating anything raw from birds, like chicken you gotta cook it through

  • no, thanks for asking though. The process you described is called 'tempering'. However, the egg white is raw when added at the cool stage. Some eggs can transfer bacteria that can cause illness, but your store bought eggs 'should' be fine. Some folks just take them from the chicken and eat them (and have for centuries). Good question. cheers! KtC

  • thanks for answering, looking forward to more videos =)

  • Looks good Kook, but how about some whip cream on top!

  • and a cherry, mmmmm 'Sundae' KtC
