  • pure beauty!

  • The best tribute to Nirvana so far, good job guys!!

  • Surprised by how much i like this... am i getting old?

  • i can masturbate to this.

  • grunge will live on in those who loved it, and will relive its glory days again one day.

    -13 year old girl. [me.]

  • @xLexiiPuppyx I'm sorry, Grunge isn't really a genre. Nirvana is more Hardcore Punk if anything, Grunge is just a label that was given to all the big Seattle bands of the 90s. Like if you really think about it Nirvana and AIC sound nothing alike...

  • @NirvanaRAA7X Grunge was very much a genre in and of itself. Have you ever watched the series Metal Evolution on VH1 Classic? If not, I highly suggest it. There is an episode that focuses on grunge.

  • @quarktheduck You did not understand what I just said at all...

Man people these days are just retarded!

  • @NirvanaRAA7X I'm pretty sure YOU don't understand what you're talking about. You said grunge wasn't a genre, and I said it is, so somehow I don't understand what you said? I'm going back to reddit.

  • @quarktheduck wow.... you're a fucking idiot!

  • @NirvanaRAA7X I gotta side with Quark on this one. Besides The Ramones and Greenday sound nothing alike and they're both punk. Or were till Greenday went emo.

  • @Quaryskank Green Day was pop punk...

  • @NirvanaRAA7X A sub genre is still a genre.

  • @NirvanaRAA7X You seem rather ignorant. So I'll put this bluntly. You don't understand the topic you are arguing on. If I were you, I'd stop blabbering and looking like a fool, but that seems implausible with what little knowledge I have of you. TL;DR; You are an idiot and only look stupid when you 'correct' people, because you are wrong.

    -The Baron

  • @BaronSamodi Look Just try to understand what I'm saying.

Grunge was never a genre just a label. If you're too dense to understand that's your problem not mine. I'm done here good day to you Sir.

  • @NirvanaRAA7X Yeah, your entire argument has been "I'm right, you are wrong/stupid/ignorant". A genre is a label. They are both things used to classify the classless. You don't get the highroad now, just for your information. You lost that chance.

    -The Baron

  • @BaronSamodi You know what an argument is? It's just awhole thing of I'm right your wrong on both sides. Now you're bieng ignorant and stupid. But dude seriously if you listen to Nirvana it's so much more punk than anything else. A label and a genre are different FYI.

  • @NirvanaRAA7X Again, I must point out that a genre and a label are different as much as dachshund and dog are different. A genre is a kind of label, punk is just a label. And You obviously know jack shit about punk, Nirvana is awesome but there are plenty 'more punk' bands. But I'm tired of trying to enlighten your invertebrate mind.

  • @BaronSamodi In the word of someone much smarter than me "Assuming you took the definition of genre and applied it towards grunge and came up with a similar conclusion, what is known as "grunge" was not a sound or a genre, it was a movement.

The grunge movement rejected any form of high budget production for their sound, thus resulting in many bands considered part of the grunge genre to use similar production methods and not forms, styles or subject matters.

  • @NirvanaRAA7X And truly punk anything isn't a genre. You can take anything and call it a genre, with little effect on anything. Punk and grunge are neither genres from their origin, but have become such over time.

    -The Baron

  • @BaronSamodi Your right pnk wasn't always a genre just one band with there own unique sound which evolved into other bands copying that band and then that new sound was called punk rock. It doesn't change the fact that Grunge is not really a real genre...

  • @NirvanaRAA7X The same thing happened with grunge as did punk. One group was called grunge, others copied that. Its how ideas flow. It's like saying goth isn't a genre. I see where you are coming from, but you are wrong.

    -The Baron

  • @BaronSamodi I do not believe so. You make a good argument but even if Grunge is a genre Nirvana should not be part of it, what I'm saying is Nirvana doesn't sound like the other "Grunge" bands nor does Mudhoney.

  • BRILLIANT!!!!!

  • Nirvana opened new way,new door for rock music guys, you don't even think how important they are in rock history.I'll comment the reason here later.

  • air violining.

  • i vote for the second top comment

  • PERFECT!!! So.... Haunting!

  • Haha!! Its sounds like futurama at the beginning!!<3

  • *speechless*

  • Holy fuck. THIS IS SO GOOD. I'm not kidding, I got a slight boner.

  • I raped the repeat button..........

  • 1.Nirvana

    2.Alice in Chains

    3.Soundgarden

    4.Pearl Jam

    ..others

  • @Franklin9903 I'd put Mudhoney in there. But good call :)

  • @VariedLyrics Mudhoney were good but very amateurish. They don't have the melody or soul that Nirvana or AIC had.

  • Mother of Kurt :O

  • This is class!!!!

  • Everyone is talking about their love of Cobain, and while I agree, what about the amazing people who did this aye?

  • waooo this is so cool

  • this string quartet has good taste in mucis :P

  • Grunge is My Life \o/

  • Wonderful - just wonderful!

  • My school did this song and it was not has good!Just wonderful!

  • My school this song and it wasn't has good, wonderful!!!!

  • Genius! It's a pure genius song! Now I think it's really the greatest song...

  • I am just thankful I lived through it.

The concerts were great, we had a blast back then.

Thanks Nirvana, STP, Alice N Chains, Soundgarden etc.

  • The string quartet takes the fundamental harmonies out of the song and lays it bare for everyone to see exactly what it's worth. The result with this -> ***pure musical beauty***.

...I take my hat off to you, Mr. Cobain!

  • I was awrong o.o Drugs make People Better (No Ofense rl) Kurt u Cocaine Vodca Drinking Genius !

  • nice

  • this goes to show that no matter how dirt and feed-backy their music was, there always was a beautiful melody.

  • gorgeous!

  • I'm glad that this cover is done in a nice unique sounding way as opposed to the highschool students that try it in their garage and expect everyone to love it.

  • This one with Kurts vocal ; )

  • loving the stacatto inthe main riff

  • Such an amazing rendition of the quiet verses - love how all the instruments are involved in their own way

  • @thembrown I agree :)

  • this would not sound out of place on an epic movie like lord of the rings or something.

  • I SWEAR I THOUGHT THE EXACT SAME THING. reminds me of the rohan theme

  • this is now my 2nd favorite cover and position 1, held by Tori Amos, is up for debate

  • load up on guns and bring your friends, it's fun to lose and to pretend.

  • lol.

  • Truer words were never said.

  • Grunge is dead. It died along with Kurt.

  • what about dave and the foo fighters??

  • okay i agree dave grohl is my hero but are foo fighters grunge...really? i admire him but he is not grunge.

  • @lizard300X POST-grunge...

  • ,perl jam , alice in chains, sonic youth, primus, grunge breaths music breaths start looking

  • hmm....there okay, i dislike alice in chains.

    *pearl jam, there okay.

  • @lizard300X

Grunge didnt die,it was raped and bastardized into the wretched emo culture that exists now.

  • @lizard300X What, are you 5?

  • @lizard300X Stupidest thing I've seen today.

  • @sjuggalo i agree completely.....wata fag....we still have pearl jam, uncle ho ect.

  • @sjuggalo open your god damn eys and see it again

  • @lizard300X Grunge is still alive!

  • @lizard300X Actually not. Kurt was only a man, Grunge is music. Music never die \o

  • @lizard300X No Grunge died when the fame of Alice in Chains faded away

  • @MyndBarrier u sir, is right.

  • @lizard300X

I would say it died with Layne Staley, but AIC wasn't grunge, they were better than that.

  • @RCTPatriot75 and nirvana is better than alice in chains.

  • @roejogan8 That's like comparing Apples and Oranges. I think the problem was that record labels, magazines, and radio stations didn't know how to classify those bands so since they were all from the same area they just made up a word to call it. Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, etc. all had different influences, different backgrounds, and different styles. Fuck it though, they were all good.

  • @lizard300X Sound can't die, though I think it's (morbidly mind you) appropriate for the genre to "die" with the God of Grunge.

  • @lizard300X Grunge was never alive in the first place.

  • RIP Kurt((

  • awesome...epic...

  • EPIC

  • Sucks that I was 1 when Kurt died, wish I could've gone to at least one of Nirvana's concerts

  • Courtney SUCKS!!!

when she wanst born we can her kurts music live :(

i hope you will die hard and slowly.... :(((

    RIP Kurt..... :´(

  • agónica como su existencia

  • COURTNEY YOU FUCKING MURDERER!

I HOPE YOU GET FUCKED BY A HORSE!

    [sadface] rip kurt.

  • horse with big cock! lol..

  • ...?

  • wish I was really from Aberdeen which is where Kurt really grew up.

  • why?

  • Because bands like nirvana and pearl jam made washington a music scene and gave a good name towards washington. People who love music can take pride in these bands

  • why the hell did i get 2 thumbs down? still makes me proud mofo's.....Another thing people forget is that Jimmy Hendix is from washington too. People always list the bands but they forget Jimmy. love nivana. I often use "Easily Amused" from the song All Apologies. Such GOOD lyrics!

  • lol its Jimi

  • OMG amazing!! i love nirvana

i know alot of people wont agree but i think that it would be cool if the string quartet did some of the strokes music

  • the nirvana songs turn out so well with the strings, better than other songs

    it's sounds amazing!

  • disrespect.....

  • disrespect x2

  • @11ari11 it isnt disrespect, they do this for every band and its kind of cool

  • PezoCon, if you did that, Kurt would rise up out of his grave, and possibly bash the good part of your head with a guitar, and thats AFTER he makes you listen to him play...

  • this is just love :)
