@BOBM567 Yeah, totally sweet truck with no issues. Built strong and very durable. I bought it when I had just a 5 min commute to work, then things changed so I had to downgrade. If I had to do it again, I would probably get something cheaper and not as nice LOL! I say this because I was scared to really offroad it or do anything too crazy because I didn't want to wreck a $30K truck.
So how much wheel hp did you gain overall? How much PSI are you running, How much psi can that supercharger push? and how is your mpg affected ? Is the transmission holding up to the extra power? What needed to be done to the computer to take in the supercharger? how much did the install cost?

Would you recommend this as a first car i have 3 atvs and i am stuck between this exact truck that you have or an 2005 Subaru STI. What kind of super charger is this and is this a STICK SHIFT?
@xXCheech24Xx I would not recommend this as a first car unless you are really careful. This was my 5th car and I almost crashed by accelerating too fast at about 50 mph and the back end whipped out on me. I fishtailed a bit, but saved it. Subaru has AWD so that would probably be your best bet. It's a Stillen SC, but it is aftermarket so they don't normally have it. It is an automatic transmission. Best of luck to you man!
@xXCheech24Xx Oh, sorry, I misunderstood the question. The NISMO frontiers have upgraded offroad suspension, skid plates and are designed more for offroad.
i was thinking about buying one but, i need it to tow my bikes around. i got a 06 Cbr and a 07 R6 and my 2003 Frontier 4x4 tows it i just wanted to know if a newer frontier short bed would be able to tow it. Thanks! Really nice truck by the way bro, love it.
nice truck, I'm only a few hundred dollars short of gettin the supercharger for mine. I wouldnt run a black truck through a car was with brushes though, the grime stuck to the brushes are gonna scratch the hell out of it.
thats a nice ass truck man! but i heard the stillen s/c aint shit w/o a good tune, i hear the stillen piggy back sucks and holds a lot of potentail for this supercharger back. go get an uprev tune, they tuned a stillen s/c truck before and got good results.
yeah i mean your truck is bad ass and this supercharger will increase performance vs stock but there has been a lot of debate on one frontier forum i belong to that this s/c is WAY overpriced for the performance you get. there are people on that forum with major bolt ons that put out more power to the wheels then the s/c with the piggyback ecu. look up uprev on the net, they will hook you up and make that s/c perform the way it should!
I have researched the same thing and I have found that everything is hard on a transmission. If you have more horsepower and use it, it will use your transmission a little harder. It depends on how hard you want to run it. However, I have not heard of any major failures.
Yeah, I figured that. I think the current generation frontier has a transmission cooler. Since your truck is supercharged, based on the way you drive it, do you think your transmission will last you to 100,000 miles? Do you think Nissan will laugh at you if you try to get them to cover it under warranty if it goes? I'm thinking it's a 6 year, 100,000 mile power train warranty. Obviously the warranty will expire with whatever comes first. 6 years, or the 100,000 miles...
If you modify the engine, all bets are off with the warranty. Powertrain, I heard is the same as the Titan, so I believe it will handle the horsepower and qualify for the warranty. This is only what I have heard!
Do you think a stock 4.0 will beat a Dodge Ram with a Hemi? I'm sure yours will smoke one... How many pounds of boost are you running? I've heard rumors that a super charger can actually boost gas mileage, then again I've heard people say they burn a lot more gas. How has it affected you? Sorry for all the questions. You're the first person I've talked to with a super charged 4.0 I know they are very capable engines and you could probably squeeze 400 HP out of them if you tried...
what stage supercharger do u have? b/c i have a SE 2005 frontier and i have a friend that has a SE w/ a supercharger and he sees no power increase but worse gas millage but the only thing he likes is the hum of the Superscharger thats the only thing hes getting out of it and i can do just as much , if not more than he can b/c the SC he has is giving no power and taking a hell of alot more gas so he dis likes it and he rec emends a stage 3 for power not 1 or 2
Wow! I didnt realize they made a supercharged version of that year. I have an 04 supercharged frontier. Its not as fast as yours tho. Is this the 3.3liter motor or the 4.0? How many horses?
Did you get a chance to dyno it yet? Stillen is known to overrate the #'s on the Frontier SC. Most people with the SC are in the 280hp/260ft range at the wheel. You can get pretty much get numbers like that with just bolt-ons & a tune for 1/3 the cost. Irregardless, you have a nice truck and I'm sure it runs great. Just hate to see stillen screw more people with their overrated & overpriced SC.
Thanks for the reply. Lucky me, I bought the truck with the SC and have all the parts to put it back to normal. All I know is when that SC kicks in, I get sucked back in my seat and I love it.
ya but letting you know if the SC promises 50hp its not giving you any thing b/c a SC uses 50hp just from the motor from the belt so your realy not getting any thing
BAD AZZZZZ!!!!!! What kind of exhaust kit did you put on it, is it a flow master?, I just drove my electric blue 2003 Desert Runner home from a Grateful Dead Tribute band on St Pattys day. I am going to get the cold air K&N kit & want to put a flow master exhaust on it, other than that, hmm... I don't want to sacrifice engine life, so I'm pretty much going to go stock, , got any advice?
I have a MagnaFlow exhaust. Great sound. If you want your engine to remain stock, your doing the right thing with exhaust and K&N. I hope my SC doesn't do too much damage to my engine in the long run. No issues yet!
Badass man! Gotta tell me how you painted the grill and bumper. Powdercoat or rattle can?? Looks nice, and the SC is sweet!

@tberg323 haha true that, what about speed and acceleration?
BOBM567 4 months ago
@BOBM567 Speed and acceleration were both great, but I've never driven one that wasn't supercharged.
tberg323 4 months ago
@tberg323 so would you recommend it? BTW, I don't do any long distance driving.

tberg323 4 months ago
@tberg323 was that because the supercharger and other mods? Or what?
BOBM567 4 months ago
@BOBM567 Yeah, the supercharger didn't help, but driving a 4.0 liter 6 cylinder truck long distances to commute just didn't make sense.
tberg323 4 months ago
Dude, can you upload more videos about the truck? Im thinking about getting one, but not sure.
BOBM567 4 months ago
@BOBM567 I would but I sold it. Too much gas!

why do our trucks sound electric when excelerating? ive always wondered that.

@syderpaintballer that's the supercharger making the "electric", as you put it, sound.
