Well, I guess there's a few reasons for putting Flea in the title.
'Atoms for Peace' > Yorke's band (Flea is in it).
This was in '09 before anybody had heard of Lotus Flower so I guess it was assumed it'd be a Thom Yorke solo song like on the Eraser. Or performed with Atoms for Peace.
does this audience not know who the fuck is performing? It's Thom Yorke ass holes! shut your traps and listen. Take in the moment, get lost in it...don't ruin it with your rambling pathetic yapping. You could do that after the song is over. Radiohead appreciation 101. You're welcome.
god, it was either after this song or the next one where Thom told the guy yelling THOMMY to shut the fuck up... i think his exact words were, "HEY LOUD MOUTH, SHUT THE FUCK UP." Happy birthday Thom. I love you.
Couldn't a sensible, cultured member of the audience turn around and tell these yelling a-holes to STFU?? Why the bloody hell do people have to phucking yell "yeaaa"? Thanks a-holes for ruining what would have been a perfectly delightful video
Woah, a year and a half before this song was released. I just recently got into Radiohead, so I can't imagine the surprise and amazement a fan familiar with this song must have when it was finally released.
@olympiada06 the lotus flower us a symbol of enlightenment in buddhism. and thom is singing about letting his heart take over his life and losing his ego..which is why i belive he used such self expressive dancing in the music video (something some people might think looks silly)
'Why the fuck did you put Flea in the title?' Well probably because Flea was playing with him at that gig. Maybe because they're in the same band. R-tard.
I should think that Thom and the guys love their American fans enough to forgive them this small, cultural quirk. We get excited. We like it. It's why we made amusement parks and roller-coasters. I'm sure he takes it as the compliment it's intended to be. Besides, if you've ever performed, you know this "energy exchange" has it's own ways of working and it's best to let it go and have a good time.
It doesn't matter at all how you appreciate an artists music as long as you appreciate it. Maybe Thom likes the "American" crowds because they let him know they appreciate his art by getting into the music, and (also/maybe) Thom likes the "English" crowd for pensively and thoughtfully thinking about everything his art has to offer.
I love it when Radiohead (or Thom Yorke solo) use hollow-body guitars or Gibsons with those nice thick mellow tones. Thats why I loved the smooth, thick, mellow guitar on In Rainbows and the later half of the King of Limbs . . . it complements his voice perfectly.
people yell 'wooo' because they are happy.. love life.. love the moment... maybe your life sucks and you are bitter, and it upsets you to hear happy people yell 'wooo' .. as for that english prick saying he's better then American's... well isn't that just about the most stereotypically 'american' thing you can say... and i'm pretty sure this was in Canada... snobby english fail .. so for all the happy people out there - WOOO HOOO THOM ROCKS!!!!
@adamgergich96 So I take this to mean you've never cheered at the beginning of any song you've ever heard performed right? Because otherwise you're just an ignorant prick who dislikes America, probably without ever having been there, because it's popular to do so.
@rankzappa3 he's got a point though i was just about to post the exact same thing, its so annoying, its just a suprise that he wasnt shouting FREEE BUUURDD
@kona6495 He's not.....this band is called "Atoms for Peace".....Completely different from Radiohead.......It's made of Thom Yorke (Radiohead) Vocals, Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) Bass, Nigel Godrich (Radioheads Producer) Guitar/Keyboard, Joey Waronker Drums and Mauro Refosco who also play percussion.
@kona6495 Yeah true but this performance was a year and a half before the album was released.....think this is one that was soley written by Thom Yorke and he was debating whether to relase it with Radiohead or Atoms Of Peace......
I hope in some near future thom does an ALL acoustic album. I would buy as much as i can afford and give it to all the people i know as a gift. Just to spread the fantastic music :-)
Thom Yorke is a modern day shaman; his totem is his guitar, purging the evil spirits of capitalism and greed in the world through his trance like rituals. He even performs spontaneous, ecstatic dance to work himself up into a state of communion with the truth, sharing it with all who listen with open ears and minds.
@StefanosArapoglou LOL, are you going to write this comment on every rh video on youtube? It wasn't funny the first time, but feel free to wallow in your own disappointment.
@StefanosArapoglou I like good music. I like TKOL. I don't have to admit anything... Anyway. It's just your opinion.
@csmurphyx500 I've never understood that either. Many live recordings I have (also of other bands) have been ruined by some idiots going 'yeaaah, woooh!'

@SuperiFox yes, that's the only think i could object to amnesiac too! i just don't get how people can complain about TKOL.. did they really have a listen to it and didn't feel anything AT ALL? can't believe it..

@SuperiFox there are several voices talking about a nearer than we think release of the second part of TKOL, based on some facts, such as 8 songs are way too few for 4 years in studio (and we know other songs they've been working on), the physical edition includes 2 vinyls (if one has TKOF tracks, what about the other?), the quote "if you think this is over then u're wrong" from last track Separator, the download file is named TKOL-1 and so on.. just coincidence? hope not!
@whateversunsaid Seriously. After you listen to TKOL more than once, you can see how beautiful it is.
