  • Well done!

  • @4123jstein Thank you very much...Bob

  • Really enjoyed this when I sat down to lunch - I remember the K&WVR's trip with the Jinty very well from earlier this year in June - at 6:00 - 6:03 you can see the "Germ Oils "For Increased Oiliness" sign, which I managed to shrink down+out on my railway! I was glad you looked round the locomotive shed at Oxenhope, as I didn't really get a chance to. Did you visit Ingrow West + the museum by any chance? =)

  • @Rabbitbunvoo Thanks very much for watching and I'm delighted you enjoyed it...unfortunately I didn't visit Ingrow West on this occasion......Bob

is the Scarborough miniature railway is the engine still steam or has it been converted

    thanks nick

  • @nickladey Thanks Nick, The Scarborough North Bay Railway's locos have always been driven by diesel, although the Steam outline bodies were built in 1931 and 1932....Bob

  • Lovely collection there Bob. I love the opening shot with 45407 pulling through the arch way, very nicely captured. Will.

  • @1Z88 The new roof at Pickering has made a tremendous difference.....Thanks Will...Bob

  • Lovely video Bob. Reminded me of my last visit to the NYMR back in 2008 when we went for the LNER steam gala, a great event. I think I'll have to start the process of convincing my wife she would like another visit to Yorkshire! Keith.

  • Hi Bob, Just returned from w/e in West Wales & looked at your Whistle stop tour of Yorkshire Railways! Great video. Have you been on hols? Havnt been to NYMR for 18 years! Same is true of K&WVR. Only this week I was transferring VHS to DVD vis my computer & some of the footage was on the K&WVR in April 92, with exactly the same loco! Nothing really has changed apart from digital technology which makes quality of videoing 100X better these days. Thanks for sharing, Geraint

  • @caerphillycastle We had a weeks holiday up there, and tried to get some filming done as well, the viewfinder on the camera broke just before we went, but it's been replaced now and all is well again....Looks as though you've been busy, and hope you had a good day down West, I was down there on Thursday....Bob

  • fantastic video bob looks like a nice little railway to take a vist to sometime :D

    Adam

  • @1adamstephen Another one for the list then Adam, thanks for watching...Bob

  • NYMR was my local steam railway for 15 years, used to visit several times a year, but didn't have a film camera :(. I remember Evening Star spending the summer of 1986 there, very nice!

I had my stag do based on KWVR in 2004, much beer drunk in Haworth and Keighley.

Had a week in Scarborough in 2009, and enjoyed North Bay Railway.

    Thanks for the memories!

  • @TimHall42 Likewise Tim, some of my happiest childhood holidays were around Scarborough in the 50's and 60's a wonderful place....Bob

  • Excellent. you certainly made the most of your trip up north! What a splendid 9F at the end - note the centre driving wheel has no flange to help it round curves.

  • @JPMiller14 Thanks Justin....it was all very enjoyable, and I was aware of the flange less wheels on a 9F..Thanks for the info....Bob

  • very nice shots there.

i see that getting scared by train whistles and horns isn't something you can grow out of ;)

  • @ThomastheE2engine At my age you jump at a crisp bag being popped...:o))...Bob

  • Great video Bob, you certainly made the most of your time in Yorkshire with its many preserved lines, some excellent sequences

  • @acw71000 Thanks Austin, not the best conditions with grandson at your heels, no tripod and a viewfinder that was shattered, but I still enjoyed every minute of it...Bob

  • Great video Bob, it looks like you had a good time visiting all the different lines, I particularly liked the shot of the Jinty arriving at Keighley, and the 9F under the roof at Pickering

  • @stephengthompson Thanks Steve, I used to travel to Scarborough for holidays with relatives on my Fathers side back in the 50's and 60's and have wonderful memories of Scarborough and the surrounding era....and all the travelling was done behind steam, taking about 12 hours to do the journey!...Bob

  • Nice to see you had a wonderfull time in Yorkshire and visiting some of it's preserved railways. You fortunate that the weather behaved itself during your visits

  • @GreatWestern175 There were a few showers Ry, but nothing to dampen the spirit....not the most exciting footage, but that's all I could do on a family holiday...Bob

  • Wow..!! 12:37 mins of superbness!! Love that name "Cock-o The North" thats a great name for an engine, and didn't she look nice. I loved that last vision around 12:23 with all the collected steam in the roof trusses, I really do love old railway architecture.

Keighley Station, fabulous looking place, and do you know I was up in Keighley myself last Friday delivering, look how close we came again Bob, and I never knew it... ha ha

  • Yorkshire; as you know Bob is one of my favorite holiday locations. Your expertly filmed holiday clips have stirred a hankering in me to return again very soon. Many thanks for that Bob, and for sharing …. Peter

  • Excellent video Bob. I like the way the smoke lingers under the roof at Pickering keeping the "smell of steam in". Like you say it certainly adds something extra to the experience. Its a lovely part of the world.....Tim.

  • Thanks for the tour Bob. Those mini trains look like fun. . .

  • @lionbill Built in 1931 and 1932 they are diesel powered unfortunately, but the ride is very scenic and enjoyable...Bob
