@KangoTV Agree about the EP being unlikely. I think Songs of Ascent will be released around April 2011 (Bono has said there will be a new album by the summer leg of the tour). I agree that the Spiderman stuff should be kept separate, and I hope you're right about Glastonbury, as I'm not a fan.
If they release this version as a single then fine, but they have to include the full original on one of their new albums as its one of the finest pieces they have done in a very long time , im in the ditches of someone elses luck...........

All I meant was that people who aren't actually U2 fans don't usually like their music. And personally I don't think NLOTH was off the rails, I preferred it to HTDAAB. I think you are selling the band short when you say they are never going to be big in the singles charts again. I am missing the original bridge between the first verse and the chorus - the new shift seems disjointed. Not a fan of the "because, because" bit either. It just seems to be lacking something. This version is way more apt to be a hit than the original version. The original's beginning verses went on for too long and its chorus was nowhere near as good. I hope this is the version on the new record because it has some serious potential.
Totally agree. Original version a definite hit. Live version still awesome. Best band ever. Seeing all 10 shows in OZ/NZ November/December 2010. No band comes close to U2. In Red Zone for 6 of the shows. Can not wait!
