This is also the time in which American women really gained independence and freedom in the west, including what you might call a "slutification" of western women's clothing. I think if women wearing revealing clothing caused rape, that number would be higher. And convicted rapists who have been interviewed in jail say they always target women who DON'T wear tight-fitting clothing, because the loose clothing (such as shawls, dresses, long flowing skirts or abayas) are easier and quicker to take off.
