  • "Koffee" sounds really good :)

What are the Bitrates from all these stations? Are they using MP2 or AAC codec?

  • @OoNiTR0oO The Bitrates for the stations vary, but Koffee is one of the highest at 64kbps using AAC

These scans need to be updated, as the ABC and Community Stations have since joined the Digital Radio broadcasts. Will do it when I get time!

  • For anyone considering rechargeable batteries for this radio I recommend Energizer NiMh 2450 MAh batteries, I use them in my Sangean and they work really well.

  • I really like the look of that radio, I'm looking forward to the release of the Sangean DPR 25+, I found out about it on the Sangean website.

  • Do you use rechargeable batteries in this radio?

  • This model (as you might know) has an inbuilt battery charging function. However, I haven'

t bought a set of rechargeables for the radio yet. For those considering this radio I recommend checking the setting of the battery switch on the back carefully, as sending charge to non-rechargables would be bad news!

  • At the very start of the video i hear what sounds like mobile phone interference as the radio powers up. Was that in fact you mobile phone, indeed you have one, or was that the radio making a bit of noise. What is the battery life like on that radio?

  • Hi, yes it does tend to pick up mobile phone interference when the phones are close to it. I haven't used the batteries in the radio yet, as mostly I have it plugged in, so I can't help much with the battery life

  • I was thinking about getting one of these, but in the end I bought the Pure One Classic, I quite like it. Man I hate NovaNation and The Edge Digital, I'm also very pleased the Pink Radio has stopped broadcasting. Koffee is good, but I mostly like to listen to the ABC, usually Triple J.

  • thinking of getting the Sangean DPR-69+ DAB or the PURE ONE Classic...

    thanks for the vid ?

  • I have the Pure One Classic, I love it, but it's much larger than this one. I was thinking about buying this radio and I may still get one even though I have the Classic. In this video I can read the screen very easily which is important to me as I'm vision impared, the display on the One Classic is easy to read, but the backlight is very very bright, some people make think it's too brigh,

  • Another thing you may want to think about is the DPR 69+ seems to in some way be a bit more user friendly than the Pure One Classic, the central dial on the Classic adjusts volume and changes stations where as on the DPR you have seperate sets of buttons, and there's no need to press a button to bring up a list of stations, just use the + and - buttons.

  • does the AM stations (3MP, 3AW, Sport 927 and Magic) transmit on DAB+ in full stereo (ie. when they play songs or commercials originally recorded in stereo)?

  • I haven't listened to it often enough on one of these stations to give an answer to that - but I'd say they would (remember, we did have the ill fated Stereo AM!)

  • Yes those stations do broadcast in stereo, I use headphones with my Pure One classic, and those stations play in stereo and it sounds rather good.

  • I thought that would be the case. I'm sure they still produced stereo broadcasts since the days of Stereo AM (for the few people who had it!). At least now more people have access to stereo on the AM stations!

  • Hey I have the same radio. Great machines they are

  • Yeah, the quality from both the built in speaker and through the headphone output is great. I would recommend this radio.
