Why does everything hav to look absolutely perfect????????: /
I know this might b a stereotype (srry) , but every hunter jumper person I've known or seen have grooms and anything they want... But they don't spend any time with the horse except for the 30 min they ride them... Just a recurring thing I always see
@thebandbeventers I've seen it too. I think it's a money thing. Most big hunter jumper shows can cost a bit to enter. I'm sure they spend time with the horse, but on show days, they may rely on groomers or trainers a bit more. I know I could never do that. I love spending time with my boys before a big show!
i loved this show too xP the 2ft division took years to run! i took my green mare and just went in the x's... i loved when she said thats off horse lmao. it was sooo cold... and i liked your horse btw :) i think the camra thing was neat tho... i saw it before you went in and then when i heard you fell i was like "hope the camera didnt fall off that would suck" haha ^^
@elizabethempathetic7 oh btw in the beggining, im on the bottom right in the red white blue jacket hahaha ! i was trying to stay warm :( didnt work of course.
@elizabethempathetic7 :D Thanks for guest starring! Yeah it was sooo cold. I ended up catching cold from being there all day. I really don't think this show could have gone worse, but we all got some laughs out of it !(I hope :D) Maybe I'll see ya at the next one? Come say hi :D
@stable70 Thanks :D I think that if I would have walked around the mud, I would have had a much better run. I just couldn't keep my feet in the stirrups. The lesson is, sometimes a shortcut isn't the best way :D
was warming up a horse for a dressage comp looking all professional like schooling on a long rein then out of the blue (and after ten minutes of pure level-headed-ness) the horse decides to leap about like a crazy thing, dumps me on my butt and then gallops out of the warm up arena! embarrassing much. however we did go on to come 3rd so big smiles in the end!
my biggest epic fail with Liam was when we did our first clear round.. he hadn't been jumped in ages and was really unfit, knocked 5 down and refused 3.. there were 9 jumps in the course lol!
@samiyarossini As tough as juggling everything can be sometimes, I wouldn't change it for the world! I'm chasing my dreams and it's a wonderful feeling! :D I wish you the best of luck chasing yours :D Keep me posted on how it's going!
@fizzawizz Stars? That would be cool :D My goal is to spread awareness of rescue horses, and how awesome they can be! I want people to see them as a great option when looking for a new horse, for showing, or riding in general. I'd love to get support from the ASPCA or some of the rescues around me one day, to help me spread the message :D Maybe you guys can help me spread the word? :D
@Quest4Champ yeah! Next monday if it is ok with you could you make a video over lead changes and counting strides for hunter/jumper shows please? Cause I am confused on how to do them. can you please help? I can't seam to find any good vids over that. you make amazing videos aswell!!!
@Sallyismygoat I've went to a video every two weeks until next show season :D I am actually still teaching the boys flying leads, and I'd gladly make a video once they are comfortable, but it may not be for awhile. As far as counting strides, that shouldn't be an issue. I may not be able to get it in next week's video, but I will put it in an upcoming video :D Thanks for the support!
I have multiple fails I want to share. First, was a flat class. My lease horse kept trying to gallop at the canter. My arms finally diied from holding him back. And he bolted and bucked big ones. The worst part is he ran into another horse and I couldn't stop him. So strong headed. Finally he had his fun and stopped. I was eliminated in a flat class and diidnt even fall off. Second, on my horse I tried asking for a long spot by leaning forward and he tripped over the jump and kicked out, right
@Quest4Champ WELCOME! I am new and I am going to go to my first ever horse show in January. Can you please give me some pointers? I am getting nervous incase I do something wrong! How do you change your leads at the canter? And how do you count the strides? I am going to be mainly hunter/jumpers cause me and my newest horse LOVE to jump. I am getting really nearvous cause I might forget something or do something wrong. could you please help me? By the way good job, you and Bay will do better 1/2
Haha oh jess; you seem to not have that great luck with that indoor and falling off :( but great job anyway, i hope next time goes better!
My biggest epic fail was actually yesterday. I was riding my lease horse Jeffrey and he hates the cold here and he was going crazy outside. He was spooking at everything including his own quarter sheet and shadow and he ended up doing a huge bronk but I stuck on.. I got off then and he was perfect.. twilight zone right there hahaha
My most epic fail on horseback was when I got bucked off the horse I used to ride. As soon as I got up, I started to mount. I was halfway on when he started bucking. So off I came AGAIN. After that, I got back on again and the rest of the day was fine, and I never got hurt, but I was scared!!!
Heyyy!!! You have improved so much since I came back :P Anyways, My most epic fail is when I was trotting bareback around a sharp corner, and it pretty much explains itself from there. My head bounced off the ground O.o . It was kinda fun xD That was my first fall in like 6 years, and the first on my pony :D
@PasturePal Hey :D Thanks for the kind words! Sounds like you had quite a spill on the new pony! Glad your ok, and did smack your head too hard :D Gotta love them helmets!
looks like u did really well and congrats for stayin on for the rest of it! my most epic fail was probably when i was on a small pony out bareback. my friend passed me her pony to lead and my horse stressed, BIG TIME! he took off bucking down a steep hill with me literally on his hindquarters by then. As i came off i slid down the muddy bank as my horse decided to stop to graze and watch. my mates thought it was hilarious as I apparently said, `Downhill? REALLY?' to the pony as he took off! :P x
@Quest4Champ yes, all my friends stopped to watch as well! i have some questions to ask you about owning a horse as well if you dont mind answering? im hoping to lease and I was wondering what kind of responsibilities entail in that kind of thing? he would hopefully be a riding school horse at my riding school so he would get a lot of attention, what do you think? :) thanks!x
my most epic fall was probably on an old horse named Pepper-I was trying to get him to canter and he just bolted and bucked HARD and i flipped over his shoulder and landed on my heels and fell over :P that was also my first fall :)
@ThrillOfRiding That sound's pretty scary! :D Hope your ok! Sounds like you've got some cat like reflexes too! I wish I could fall on my feet/heels - I land right on my butt!
You have such a positve attitude ! The judge seemed fantastic ! "your not off course. Your off horse" its comicial ! Amazing job even though you took a fall and missed a round you and Bay were awesome :)
@JumperEightySeven Thank you so much :D Marty is the owner/judge and she is AMAZING <3 :D Thanks for the kind words, hoping I can make it up next show :D
Probably when i was riding this hprse named Lucy. She is a young draft cross who has NEVER jumped anything in her life! So since i jump 2' my trainer wanted me to ride her. We were foing along and trotted the first cross rail perfectly. We were on our way to the second, when Lucy decided she didn't want to jump the cross rail, so instead, she killed the standard... she didn't even flinch! She just mowed it right down!!
my most epic fail was probably when i had my first cantering lesson. I was on the lunge line with a horse named Reggie and he bucked, i fell over his shoulder but i landed on my feet! :)
You said you would tell everyone that i asked you to ask everyone that watches ur channel, that i came up with the question "what is your most epic fail involving your horse?"

@Quest4Champ Yaa! One time I was getting on, and my foot slipped out of the stirrup, so I was SCRAMBLING to stay on the horse. I ended up PULLING myself onto the ponis back, and when I looked over, the girls in my lesson and my trainer were laughing! That one was pretty embarssing!
