I've been debating in my mind whether to download Truespace. I decided to check out a few tutorials and test videos to help me make a decision. What I have found is that for modelling it is pretty good because you get to see the object without having to go to wire frame view as you model. Even so, from what I see so far, that is not enough for me to want this software. It seems that the finished models do not look realistic, more like 3D cartoons instead. & I don't have a Mac.
@SunWarmed A friendly advice: first learn more about 3d modeling and after that look for tutorials for a particular software (like trueSpace). Because just by copying what's in a tutorial will bring you almost nothing, if you don't understand the things that stand behind all the techniques mentioned in it. That applies for almost every activity that involves precision in our lifes (and 3d modeling is precision).
I like trueSpace! it's I think one of the best 3D soft in Internet(Maya 3Dmax Zbrush Rhino better:( ) But I think it close to death - no new release (14 month ago was last) And yeah it's close source... Microsoft only bought but do not develop new versions... Maybe in future we get something like Expression Space :):):)?
I can´t find out how to render. I want to make avi or jpg files, but don´t know how. When I press the only render button I can find, truespace says that there is no installed render engine for the workspace. Do I have to download anything to make it work?????
But too complicated for a novice (me) to get started with. I'll stick with milkie. Much slower, but practically needs no manual to get you going either.
@Icebreeth It's not, truespace is also free (even v7.6) and it renders far better, not to mention it makes better models. The only problem is its user interface is nothing but unlabeled buttons, but blender's learning curve is worse. However I think blender upgraded their gui though i havent had time to check it out.

@ArtAgent13
There is no Mac version... and it would seem that the Caligari has been taken down.
The models final appearance is always the result of the artist.

Is there a true beginner tutorial for truespace? The one from their site needs a special decoder
