  • Ask Dennis how many NRHA reining competitions he has won in the past 10 years. My guess is that he will tell you he has won the Cow Palace which most REAL reiners dont even go to as his claim to fame. He is NOT a reining trainer. May be ok as a beginner trainer. DO NOT GIVE HIM MONEY that you don't have to waste.

  • Excellent video!

  • Very nice vid, probably the easiest to understand on teaching a horse to spin. I really like the horse that was being worked here...

  • this is one of the most clearly explained videos on training a spin then any other videos that i have watched..looking forward for more from Dennis.

  • Thank you very much for this awesome video. I thought it was very informative. I do have just one question. how do you start teaching your horse to flex laterally without to harsh on the horses mouth and neck?

  • very nice horse.i was woundering how to not make my horse hop when ever i do the turn around he always hops anytips?

  • @clementsbailey14 If your horse is hopping on the turn around (spin) it's because you're asking for it when the horse is on the wrong forward leg and he is crossing UNDER in front rather than crossing over. The outside front leg needs to be up and coming forward when you make your request to spin so he can cross OVER. Crossing under will also cause him to hit his front legs together and make him sour on spinning.

  • This goes right along with the Andreas Fappani videos I have, you use the rein to ask him to do it, your feet to make him do it..

  • Interesting exercise...I use a variation with my beast. This would be very bad for my pony, b/c he likes to overbend into his turns and pop his ribcage out...still trying to accoplish consistent, nice, turnarounds....would love to see more turnaround exercises, b/c I'm open to just about anything at this point. The little booger refuses to plant a foot, keep his body straight, and spin!!

  • hey dennis appreciate the video can you put something up on introducing the sliding stop and how to make them continue to travel in the front end

  • This is the best I have heard a turnaround explained. I have heard it many times, but it never clicked until he explained how too much neck rein will pull the horse back. I watched this twice, tried in on my mare, and she did it just perfect. No hopping either, which was becoming a problem. I'm going to train it slow and correct before asking for more speed. Dennis-- my mare's hind legs go WAAY off the ground when she changes leads, almost like a buck. How do I fix it? Thanks for great advice!

  • That was a great video!

  • Clear and concise instructions. I also like the way he repeats the key points. Hope he can find the time to contribute videos

on teaching young horses to stop and to sidepass.

    Great job Dennis. Thanks

  • hi, thank you very much for sharing this tips.... I really like it...... Again thank you so much

  • The real question is. Can he play TF2!

  • Great video! Thank you so much for sharing these with the Equestrian world.

  • Thank you. Great video. It actually helped me a lot because as soon as I learned to release the inside leg the horse automatically goes into a spin. You're a great teacher. I'd love to see more videos. Thanks.

  • I appreciate the the lesson...I'm going to try everything you said.

    Thanks again

  • what do you do if your horse hops around?

  • really nice video here, you won't find any better on a turn around for free, this horse really sets back on those hocks in those spins

  • great how to video, you explained it really well, I got alot from it. thank you for breaking it down into each part. please keep posting tips

  • I have been working on flying lead changes with my horses... what would be a better way to prepare them, start them and then finish the flying change?

  • Thanks! This helped me out a lot! It really broke down the process for me. Thanks for posting!

  • Great job simplifying and making the instructions understandable, even for a beginner. Boomer looks like a great horse!

    Can't wait for another lesson!

  • Great tips! I'll be using them now daily. By the way, that's a beautiful horse.
