I travel between 15 and 22 times per year for business and I haven't flown Southwest Airlines for a year.

Their service has gone downhill and they treat the pets better than the humans.

Soon, a passenger will have a drastic allergic reaction to a pet in the enclosed cabin of a plane, he/she, an adult or a child will possibly die at 36,000 feet and then the airline will be sued for tens of millions of dollars and will have to change their policy.

Bringing your pets in the cabin is dangerous and evil because you can kill another human being.

@MACKATTACK1970 You realise people who are allergic expose themselves to animals daily, right? If they are so higly allergic that dander from an animal would kill them than they need to be on meds. Anyone who owns a pet is going to have dander on them from said animal and so those that are allergic are exposed anyhow. What if they're allergic to my perfume? That guy's cologne? The fabric on the chairs? Darn it, these people need hypoallergenic bubbles to travel in lest everyone be sued!

@ncfwhitetigress One of our kids had very bad asthma coupled with severe allergic reactions to cats and dogs and the combination of the two is so bad especially in closed quarters that we have had to rush him to the Emergency Room twice and both times the Doctors informed us that we would have been gambling with his health had we not taken him in promptly.

For all the people saying that it's going to smell bad on the flight due to animals, you are crazy! Most people that take their pets on flight with them, take very good care of their animals and would certainly bathe them if they smell. Also, animals are very clean and do not like to soil where they are sleeping. they OBVIOUSLY wouldn't have room or be comfortable enough to poop. My pet peed a little on the flight, bit I quickly changed it's pad and put in a new one and he was still just a puppy

This is AWESOME news! Certainly better than having to drive 8 plus hours from San Diego to Sacramento or vice-versa in a family emergency....because there are no direct flights that take a small animal! Thank you Southwest Airlines!!!!

If there's an emergency on board, the passengers will be tripping over dogs and cats trying to get to the exit. Good luck to anyone who has allergies as well. I think southwest would have sold more tickets if they had simply given people free donuts as opposed to turning an airplane into a flying zoo.

The same goes for babies. Please store them under your seat and do not remove them to cuddle. If your baby/pet makes excessive noise please bring tranquilizers to calm them. In the event of a water landing you may use your baby or pet as a flotation device. After 8 hours of listening to your dog whine or your baby cry, other passengers may gang up and assist you in silencing your carry on. Thank you and have a pleasant flight.
