I had heard the band's "Loveless" quite quickly in the circle of my musically adventurous friends but I was very taken by this album "Isn't Anything" as it struck me a raw and melodious precursor to their masterpiece record follow-up. Contrasting male and female vocalists in a group had always intrigued me also. The gazing and distortion of the music is sometimes disconcerting on Isn't Anything, but quite well refined and perfected by the obvious sounds of "Loveless."
As utterly fantastic and stirring as it was then. Thanks for posting a musical gem can't wait to see them in TWO WEEKS!! My favourite band, always were in the eighties/nineties always will be.
"Loveless" is definitely this band's masterpiece. For me personally, I find some of the tracks on "Isn't Anything" to stand out really well. I like the simplicity of it. It's no where near as intricate as what we know them to be capable of, but many of the songs seem like they planted the seeds of future bands.
Kevin used his acoustic a handfull of times when performing, reversed reverb acoustic sounds great if ya get it right like he did. Is there anymore of this gig coz the handfull of ones on youtube are not very good qaulity and this is the best hands down. More please :-)
Whats the name of this song. The name of the band just came back to me after about 7 years. This song takes me back I wanna hear it in reasonable quality.
sounds like someone's got a sticky keyboard. Don't worry, I know exactly how you feel. I've heard people talking about MBV getting back together, but I'll believe that when I see it
haha 'melodious'. Great song!

"Loveless" was an ohmigod musical moment for me. I don't know how many more listenings of "Isn't Anything" it would take to somehow find it better.

The classic MBV sound wasn't as detectable on 'Isn't Anything,' but I think the songs are just as good as on 'Loveless.'
