Some bands spread out their greatness over the course of many albums and many years. I love these guys because they went all out with every ounce of effort and made some of the best music (and videos). Maybe they didn't "last long" but what they did will last forever and be remembered as great . . . Methinks.
I've loved this band since I very first heard this song years ago on CMC. Bought their album twice now, going for a third time due to (first time ex broke it to piss me off, second time I leant it to another fella and he didn't give it back!) various reasons!!!!!! Love them!!!!
I lived next door to all three of these little track star musicians. I was 13 and they had a house party for holloween, I played wild thing on acoustic at the party(high light of my year) lol. Any way they were great guys other than they drove racing ten speeds backand forth from college..lol.
Andy and Matt Thompson are my cousins. They drifted out of the Thompson brothers band and are now The Massacoustics. They still do tours and also play in another band. They are still the most talented and down to earth musicians i know!
@RozyLynn Your cousins are a rare talent. Playing al lthe different types of music they do. Love there "other" band too. Saw them 4 times last year. Hoping for at least twice that in 2011. If you see them let them know they are VERY appreciated.
I think about this song sometimes. Good to hear it in its entirety again. They were kind of ahead of their time on the country scene, with that kind of rock/pop-country crossover. I think the negative attitude towards the country/farm living in this song didn't help their popularity on country radio, LOL
Thanks sbaio! So they are The Massacoustics! After country radio abadoned them, I heard them on some alternative rock station, still the TBB.
I always wondered if they were still around, or drifted into other bands, or what.
They ARE cool guys, the talk to you like anyone, they don't have big egos. At a concert they told me they played at my high school years before in a school band swap. I graduated a few years before, so I missed it! I try to imagine them hamming it up at my HS. :-O
This was the 3rd single -- though I can't remember what the first two were to save my life!
In spite of pop music being forced on good country artists, radio always had a problem with TBB because they did not fit in category, at all!
When they released BOTFA, I remember thinking, "No! Not that one! I'tl ruin your career!" -- even though I loved it. I knew pure country adherents would hate it and country radio wouldn't play it!
My fave TBB song is "Dragging These Chains Around," 3rd alb
These guys were awesome. I say them twice near Chicago about 5 years ago. Have all their cd's too. Too bad they didn't get noticed like some of these crappy bands do....
Great tune has a Beatles quality to it the drums are incredible too bad they didn't get the same type of promotion from Nasville that lesser talened acts like rascle flats etc. get these guy's should have become bigger ..........Too bad
Was lucky to see these guys live at the Minnesota State Fair at a small side stage when this song came out... I told them you had to be up at 3 in the morning to catch their video... CMT played new artist like in the middle of the night... They laughed and thought it was crazy too...Super cool bunch of guys...Love 'em
When i was little me and my sisster would always listen to this song and we would always laugh at the animals and are parent would tape us and i was watching the tape and i could tell we loved it because would keep wanting to rewind it.
I remember when this song aired I had just moved back to Tennessee, and now years later I'm about to move back to Tennessee again, I think I'll play it one more time when I hit that Tennessee border.
I touched Andy's foot.
