im from UK and i made a USA account just to download this for my 80GB but it dident work so i guess UK or all 80GBs dont play PS2 games :( which is a shame because iv sold my PS2 but i regret that now lolz

People. This addon is NOT for backwards compatibility, It will not make your PS3 magically backwards compatible. The addon is just to allow PS2 games that use a hard drive (like Final Fantasy XI) to have access to the PS3 hard drive. That is all.

Yeah this "PS2 Data" is only required for PS2 games to be saved on the HDD.

guys i downloaded this on my 40gb and it only works on the 20 60 120 but i don't know about the 80 so try it but it doesn't work on all of the 40's

dude the stuff u downloaded is just to be able to save your PS2 games.. it's just a virtual memory card.

And more importantly, only the 60GB PS3 can play PS2 games to begin with

not true my friend just bought a 40 gb ps3 and he can play ps1 and ps2.  Also the ps2 system data doesn't work for all ps3's. And this guy in the video has it backwards lol it usually works on the 80 and 60 gig not 40 lol
