I cant imagine having a pyrenees in the house, let alone in bed. Mine barks outside all night and sleeps all day. And smells and drools and SHEDS. Such a sweety though. They are an incridibly affectionate dog. I have to brush her for about a week in the spring to get her winter coat off. The brushing fills a garbage can every spring. Would I get another one? Absolutely. I got mine from a shelter. Someone couldn't deal with it I guess. She has total freedom here on the farm
My pyr, Jimmy, is 2 years old now and this is so much like him. Sometimes he wants to be a loner and do his own thing, but if he wants to play or snuggle, look out! He sits next to me whenever I'm in a certain chair in my house and starts to make noise if I don't pet him. He's my big teddybear!
@Richardschulzeca Actually, Great Danes may have the Pyrs beat on the lap dog issue. Either wait, both are cuddlers. I'm about to adopt one in a few months myself.
If I didn't know better I would think that is Maia my 11 month old pyr. Great dogs, and I've had a few different breeds. She has the best personality and just loves to cuddle. She has no idea she ways 95 pounds!
I just got a 9 week old pyrenees puppy today... Oh man I did not know what I was getting myself into.. when they say extra large they really mean extra large... I've seen pictures of them grown but seeing yours in comparison to a person... Wowza. This is going to be an adventure! First step, potty training :P
@Rawrockkills10 Best of luck with your Pyr. They are the best. Very loving and very loyal. The puppy's first year is the hardest. They get into everything. Be patient. It pays off. Don't forget to take lots of pictures and video. Post the vids on youtube and let me know.
Oh My God! That is exactly how our Pyr Shamus behaves. He tries to get into your skin and there is not moving him once he gets on the bed with us and wants to be there. He practically smothers our two little girls (who of course love it) but we get the elbow in the neck, licking, nibbling, rubbing and loving. It was just like looking at a video of our own house! Thanks for Sharing. Hey, does Albert drool? Shamus is crazy wet mouth
Hi there! Our first Pyr, Claudia was the runt of the litter. Even at 8 weeks old, she wouldn't let me put her on her back. That is one part of the temperment test. She protected my wife and was always very serious. Albert on the other hand, is a total clown. He will 'turn on' his protective side if he wants to, or if I give him the 'secret' command. Albert loves all kids, most dogs and to be petted.
Albert is so beautiful. His face reminds me of my Mandy but she is quite small compared as she is a golden retriever. I would love to have a Great Pyr next.
I don't but Albert the Big White Dog does all the time. They say a Pyr blows his coat once a year. What they don't tell you....it lasts for 12 months.
He looks a lot like my baby bear. They are very very needy animals. Sam thinks he's a lap dog or something. When I try to get out of bed he will literally hold me down and force me to pet him....
we have a pup that we got from a shelter that they said was a gp mix.. we arent sure though, she looks sort of st bernardish too... either way she is a total love bug who thinks she only weighs about 10 lbs! lol
Albert is 32 inches at the shoulder. He's 135 lbs. and is a total mama's-boy. He sleeps on the bed with us every night along with our two cats. He turned 3 on Oct. 15th. Our first Pyr was a total guard dog. At 89 lbs., Claudia thought she was 400 lbs. She would have been an excellent U.S. Marine. hehehehe
i have a three month old pyr named chewy and i'd love for him to get that size!! that's amazing. i've showed so many people this video when I try to explain what a great pyrenees is. thank you for sharing! how tall is Albert?
LOL! Good to know I'm not the only one dealing with a big fatso in bed! Haha! Our Ralph does the exact same thing in an attempt to snuggle. He's only 7 months now so he's not quite as big but it's hilarious how identical the scenario is! Adorable! Love it!
My God they are all the same... That's hilarious... Thanks for the laugh!!! I love it... How much does Albert weigh??? My Lucy (you can see her at "Great Pyrenees-Lucy's beach antics") only weighs 34 kilos, she is a bit too thin. Anyway, I'm rambling... Thanks again.
