@diegotsqui It's called the "wall of death". It's a common thing at bigger metal festivals, since there is more room to get it done. Basically, the crowd splits in two, then whenever the band playing starts a song, the two halves come together, and eventually for a huge mosh pit. There is some great wall of death footage from As I lay Dying's concert footage at Wacken Open Air. I can't tell you when the WOD was first started, or who invented it, all I know is that I try to stay away from them.

Every time I go into pits, I lose my glasses and am not only out $200, but I can't drive home because my eyesight is so bad. Nowadays what I do is drag my wife to metal shows and give her my glasses whenever I want to go into pits. Keep on kicking metal ass. Maybe next time I'll not avoid the WOD.
