Wow! What wonderful changes !! I was raised in Lackawanna, but moved to the tropics over forty years ago! Main Street HAS really changed...great! I use to travel this route to get to the University of Buffalo! NOW they have trains! OH WELL! What fabulous memories! Hope to be back soon for a visit. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice all around. I remember when the "train that comes from and goes to nowhere" wasn't there, and you could drive Main St. I used to read the meters along this stretch. Many of the buildings basements go all the way to the curb, and still more are connected by tunnels that used to have a small underground electric railway for coal & supplies. I could go from the East side of Ellicott to the West side of Main St. and never be above ground. Lots of history below those streets.
@tomada36 Yes, Chippewa Street is still the place to be although it's going through a transformation. SoHo Bar is reinventing into a family friendly burger restaurant for the day crowd and lounge by night, the Calumet building will soon be home to a lawyers office on the upper floors. The street itself will be cleaned up this summer with new crosswalks and Spot Coffee is still there on Chippewa/Delaware.
@payless1981 i was in buffalo last night..havent been in over a year..thanks for answering my first question bout sohos..but what about subzero?...me and my friend looked so dumb walking down those stairs to see it was closed..no renovation?
Can I perhaps use this as a clip in a video I'm making? I'd credit you. Just looking for great buffalo footage for a nice heart warming little project that should be up soon :)
@taximnjim Thank you, I actually did do two video's showing the grand homes along Richmond Ave. I do plan on doing more around the city to show the outside world how great and vibrant Buffalo is. Thanks for your support and keep watching.

Is Chippewa still the place to be? Is "The Spot" coffee shop still on the corner of Chippewa and Delaware?

Interesting. Might do Delaware park aroung Hoyt lake or show off the homes made by frank Loyd wright especially the larkin house on Jewett parkway
If you go to south buffalo one must see the horticulture building off sothpark or the Basillica down the block
So many places
It is hard not to find something in all parts of our great city we live in
Great job on the video
