been there, went in because I didn't have my DL and proof of Ins with me. sat in there for 36 hours before I could see the judge and have my husband bring my license and ins. card. Everything was dismissed. we live in a police state. I've never been arrested and had no warrants or anything and the cop was just a dick and took me to city jail anyway. It is nice to see the sun again isnt it.. and not have to eat those mystery meat sandwiches.
Well, he didn't pay the ticket for walking in the park after it was closed, they send you a bunch of letters and you know if there's a warrant out for your arrest. I agree that it's stupid to write tickets for that, but he could have contested it for one reason or another. Getting arrested the way he did does sound really stupid, but it seems pretty apparent that this dude made no effort to work the system.
You are the fourth person I've heard of this week who got arrested for riding their bike on the sidewalk. You would think that NYPD would have plenty more to do than look out for cyclists riding their bikes on sidewalks.
oh, but c'mon -- don't you know that cyclists are terrorists because they don't contribute to the oil economy and therefore undermine homeland security? ;)
I saw you at the live. Nice that they out you ans the girl Susan u near the stage like that. It looked like you two got some good camera time too. FYI, I have missiles attached to my bike. You should get some for next time. They'll think twice for sure.

ahh! i missed you guys!!! i saw that foureyedmonster had a new video up and i about crapped. good to see you and i hope there is a new project that is at least in the works if not preproduction.
Wow! I'm glad the authorities are finally cracking down on hardcore criminals like you. It probably cost thousands of dollars to house and deal with your incarceration...money that could have been spent taking care of a homeless family for a month.
I understand that laws are meant to take care of the "bad people", but it just seems to amount to thought and behaviour control as of late. And people wonder why others have no drive to be themselves and allow themselves to be TOLD what to do?
thats so ridiculous that you got arrested. shouldn't they spend more of their time oh I dunno, actually trying to protect people instead of being assholes and arresting you for taking a walk in the park? like really?
Wiriness, I agree that it's better for pedestrians to not ride on the side walk, but you have to understand, I only do this when I'm out in the east williamsburg industrial park or bushwick area where there are no pedestrians, just huge trucks in the streets trying to run you over. I would never do this on a busy sidewalk in manhattan. It just wouldn't make sense. In this case common sense is a better keeper of the peace then the police.
Dude - that is so messed up. Jail? For riding your bike on a sidewalk and walking through a park at dusk? WTF? What country are you living in? That is way harsh. Good luck in SF! I'm just down the road from there! I bet Mike will be there too - coolness - have fun!
i really hope that was just a made up story, cause this really feels like ..frikkin Moscow in the 80's! are you serious? is that the United Stated 2008?! :$
so now that you've experienced the police state we live in, what are you going to do about it?

@Tedleo875 I hear you, but at the time I had no mailing address so was not getting anything and had no idea it had turned into a warrant.
