Furthermore, the point is. I feel deeply sorry for Palestinian people, but their suffering is not the same as the mindless killing and genocide of WWII. To equate the two is a direct denial of the actual merits of the situation and their strife. Individual greed and gain, instead of unity and peace.
And Palestine has Hamas in Gaza. I believe Hamas capitalizes on fear and its people for power. As long as hatred with Israel is awake, they are comfortably in their seat. I do not think Israel could ever go to the 1967 borders, it's 50 years later, times have changed. People live there. I do agree that Palestinians should have land that is more connected, for their own security, after establishment of their State. But unfortunately it seems neither side is ready yet for different reasons.

They are surrounded by 6 Arab countries, most of which have made it clear at certain points of hatred towards Israell. The difference between Iran and Israel is I trust Israel to not use the nuclear weapons a hell of a lot more than the powers that be in unstable Iran, which are not even wanted by half the people who protested and were silenced and murdered by their government 3 years ago.
I'd feel the same way about North Korea vs. South Korea. Safer with South. Nuclear bombs are insurance. Israel is in good standing with the West, and the West is anti-nuclear warfare to the extreme. There is absolutely no reason for Israel to use bombs unless they are severely attacked. There are also less safety issues, whereas I have more fear of a terrorist regime getting access to nuclear weapons, even if only to make dirty bombs. What if a jihad terrorist has access to that? Scary.
I disagree with most new settlements in Palestine. I think that the people doing it are mostly the radical Zionist and profiteering Jews of Israel that are not the majority. But I can also understand the sense of frustration Israelis have about peace with Palestine. As time went on, the borders and opportunities for Palestinians to make peace grew smaller, while Israel has grown bigger. I think Palestinians are being abused from all sides, but Arabs are unwilling to take any responsibility.
And when I say Palestinians, I mean the people, not the government, not their radical extremist terrorist brothers that kill people in their name. Israel used to be more liberal towards Palestinians, until they started bombing the hell out of them in the 1990s. Arafat had a really good chance of making peace but I think he blew it. So Israel becomes isolationist and more right-winged. They are a Democracy, it was a social response to the environment back then.

The Jewish idea of the promised land and expansion into Palestinian territory sound a bit like the Nazi German policy of Lebensraum, expansion into the promised land of Poland and Russia. To equate the two is a direct denial of the actual merits of the situation and their strife. I do not think Israel could ever go to the 1967 borders, it's 50 years later, times have changed. People live there. I do agree that Palestinians should have land that is more connected, for their own security, after establishment of their State. But unfortunately it seems neither side is ready yet for different reasons.

I'd feel the same way about North Korea vs. South Korea. Safer with South. Nuclear bombs are insurance. Israel is in good standing with the West, and the West is anti-nuclear warfare to the extreme. There is absolutely no reason for Israel to use bombs unless they are severely attacked. There are also less safety issues, whereas I have more fear of a terrorist regime getting access to nuclear weapons, even if only to make dirty bombs. What if a jihad terrorist has access to that? Scary.

I disagree with most new settlements in Palestine. I think that the people doing it are mostly the radical Zionist and profiteering Jews of Israel that are not the majority. But I can also understand the sense of frustration Israelis have about peace with Palestine. As time went on, the borders and opportunities for Palestinians to make peace grew smaller, while Israel has grown bigger. I think Palestinians are being abused from all sides, but Arabs are unwilling to take any responsibility.

Israel used to be more liberal towards Palestinians, until they started bombing the hell out of them in the 1990s. Arafat had a really good chance of making peace but I think he blew it. Yes Israel was Jewish before it was Palestinian, but before the Jews it was Egyptian, and before that Phoenician. "Palestine" was never a "country". THe "palestine" refugees could have been absorbed by neighboring countries (from which they originally came from) and lived decently, but the Arab nations just confined them in run-down camps to stir up hatred against the jews. This docu doesn't talk about the tens of thousands of jews kicked out of the Arab countries, of whom Israel absorbed, gave citizenship and a decent life. Arab countries could have done the same.

The end to the killing is a 2 state solution but the palis are lead by a terrorist government who does share that goal. Not to sound cliché but, in general arabs will only be happy when Israel is utterly destroyed and every Jew killed. We basically here that over and over and not just from the palis. When I first saw this series I had no idea what the issue is. Now I understand. Truthfully Britain should have resolved this dispute before they left the region. I believe it was partially their fault as well.

@themanbearpig Even though the US used nuclear weapons it is still not a festering wound except maybe Japanese concentration camps set up in the US supposedly during WWII. It is a total mess over there and has been for fifty plus years. I do understand that you are trying to make that point that we invented and used nuclear weapons which has spread to other nations. But I will say that if we didn't some other country would of.

"supposedly"? it is well known and accepted that those concentration camps existed. You didn't invent the nukes, the nuke was invented by americans, russians, britons and even germans (amongst others) all working on 'the manhattan project', Are you a fortune teller? you seem to know what would happen certain acts weren't/aren't commited.

@themanbearpig It's because US dropped the nuclear bomb in Japan that the world see the destructive power of nuclear bombs. From there, we learned the nuclear weapon is something to be cautious about and that's why we never have another nuclear bomb exploded since then.
