This is exactely what Paterno did. He kept quiet and was more concerned for Penn States reputation. He found out in 2002!!! Since then Sandusky was still free to go after more children. He (Paterno) said he regrets that he didn't do more. Imagine how the kids that Sandusky attacked after 2002 feel.

Paterno was (and still is) a good person that made a monumental mistake. To say that paterno should finish out the season is wrong. When he saw that the whole thing was being hushed, he should have alerted a higher authority. It would have only taken one phone call to the state police or even the governor.

1998 Sandusky accused of child rape.
1999 Paterno forces Sandusky to retire.
2002 McQueary sees Sandusky RAPING A 10 YEAR OLD BOY in Penn State's Showers!
2007 A victim states he was brought to Paterno's CLOSED PRACTICE by Sandusky.
Paterno knew and did NOTHING.
Paterno and McQueary saw Sandusky bringing new victims to their practices from 2003 to 2011 and did NOTHING.
Joe Paterno is SELFISH and IMMORAL.

If I had a son or daughter in that school I would be pulling them out and they would no longer get any of my money nor influencing my kids life. If you think about it they turned their head to an atrocious crime and now look at how the kids are acting. Shows how they are influencing the students also. This is not a normal reaction from anyone so you have to question why are the students behaving this way.

After reading the indictment, I think that the actual old janitor that witnessed the acts I think should be given a bit of a break, he apparently about had a heart attack, said what he saw was worse than what he saw during the korean war. His workmates however, I'm not so sure of.

I believe Ray Gricar the attorney who was investigating the Sandusky rape case in 2005 disappeared....it is tied to this. I believe that probably he was killed for not letting go of the case....
If they investigate more...they will probalby find organized crime involved in keeping Sandusky working. He makes money for them.

@whiskeysoul O.J Simpson was not found not guilty back in 1994 I think. I have read the Grand jury finding on this matter. I was just saying that it is possible that he may be proven not guilty of the crimes.

For years I was a California boy (still am) who supported Penn State's
football team. But after this scandal and the stupidity of Joe Paterno
I don't feel comfortable supporting them anymore.

Wrongly forced? He could have avoided all of this with one phone call. When he saw that nothing was being done, he could've called the state police (or higher).

When you see all those students in the streets of the campus protesting Paterno's firing, you can appreciate even more: all they care about is their stupid football program. Pathetic! Those students could care less about the victims, and further embarrass the University. Football is just a game. Joe Paterno is just a friggin football coach, not God! Every employee that knew about the molestations should be fired! The protests need to be banned. Have a little class!
