I've watched this like 10 times. I can't even understand what they're saying besides a few words, but the whole video is just ridiculous. Reminds me of something like "The mighty boosh," except for iran
@windowsforvista The main character Gatebe sings in Kurdish and that's an actual kurdish song but he has changed the lyrics to a funny one. If you could understand it it's very funny. This was made during the time of The Late HIM Shahanshah Aryamehr bless his soul , it will be a long time b4 we can see freedom and arts like this again in Iran at least until these arablovers r there
@jamicaman900 Wait do they all speak kurdish? I only know farsi, but not very well, so I'm not sure who sings what. The video itself looks pretty funny though
@girl2Tube if u r referring to me , I wasn't in Iran and myself and my family has never supported these yaboos , God, King and the persian people Javid Shah, Payandeh bad Persians and Persia . The true Persians
@Metallaio It's the intro of an old persian comedy show. It's about an Iranian women who falls in love with a rich Iranian-Italian man whom she has met in Italy. They're supposed to get married in Iran but her friend sets up a scheme to try to get all the money for herself. It was one of the funniest comedies of the time.
no duh!!! ..lol to the bottom comment of course it iranian its and old hilarious comdey movie .....no one said it was italian the movie is called italia italia
It makes me sad to think how far ahead of the times we were socially and artistically in Iran. I mean who had the comic depth of this show anywhere in the world? Not many places. A gay hairdresser? C'mon, we were the shit. In the words of Amir20002 " Goh Khordin Enghelab Kardin"
You can buy the video/DVD from one of the many online retailers. Ghatebeh was hilarious! In one episode he introduced himself, to a cop or someone, as the Director of GTT (Rayees Geh Teh Teh). The guys asks him what's GTT and he replies "Gedayaneh Tehrav va Tavab'ea"! I watched this when I was about 10 or 11 in Iran and LMAO! I now have the DVD and every so often that I want 2 reminsce, I watch it and still LMAO! Indeed, Reza420, classics never go away!
i cant translate the whole thing but its about a poor guy trying to marry a rich iranian girl and for getting married to him he ssays that he is italyan and that he will take the girl to italy after they get married and ....etc
This reminds me of my youth, although I was not in Persia but that was the best time. NOT these arab loving mullas. Long live Persia. Death to arablovers and arab language. BTW the name has to change to PERSIA
Persians always have had a romantic love affair about Italy &italians for good reasons not wrong. This was a classic 70s show about a con artist who his Italian counterpart was a crook. It's very funny if u can understand the Persian culture at the time. The time when Iran was great and fun not under these arab loving thugs
huh? This song was taken from boney m. Are you sayin that Boney M. took the songs from Sidi Mansour? Saber el roubaey? Those two songs are nothing alike.
DadoITA : No it's not against our Italian friends, it's an old Iranian show, It's about a very wealthy Iranian girl was getting marry with an Italian guy, but They found an Iranian guy witch looked exactly like Italian guy and said that's him came from Italy, It was very funny show and Iranian guy must portend he speak Italian, because they wanted to get all the girls money after marriage.
No, it's about a rich beautiful widow who meets a guy in Italy and wants to marry him. Some Gangsters see the pic of the italian betrothed and what a surprise! He looks exactly like an iranian crook (The guy in the middle of video, playing 2 roles, of course)...
Schwanzmannn, who told you that Iranian thinking that they are Italian? if you are talking about the title of this clip , it was old TV show in Iran, nothing to do with Iranian being Italian. loool.
@schwanzmannn There might be some Iranian who think they look like Italians, but this is not the case for the majority of them. This video is about a TV show that aired in Iran in '70s. I haven't seen the series and I am not sure why it's got its name.
@schwanzmannn just hold your comments in northern american border while you have no fucking clue what's going on with the ancient world. iranians and italians made many common movies and their culture is tide. italians have made 3 movies about the kingdom of iran, where italian actors and actresses take place. two ancient culture are interested in their own. so just take a break and convince yourself that your knowledge is good for your northern american country. in other words fuck urself.
So they decide to kidnap the italian guy and force the iranian man to apear as the italian groom. They hope to get all of the money from the widow. There are a lot of funny scences about the iranian guy acting boorish and clumsy, trying to talk italian without knowing a word of it and so on... It's an nice old show and it was very popular in Iran :)
You have to watch the whole show then you'll figure them out. Many of them are made up or just put together for fun. Like when he says "shekar khordanaayeh meft", if u watch the show then you'll figure out he actually means talking sh*t. lol
lol this will be hard 2 explain but I'll try. Naghes means imperfect, like if someone is missing an arm they call them Naghes, but that's not how it's used in this situation. Ghereshmal I think is one of ghaatebe's made up words. There's a part his wife is bitching @ him for not giving her money and he's like "khaanoom to chera enghadr ghereshi?" so it doesn't have a real meaning...lol so basically put the 2 together & it doesn't have a real meaning. Kind of like "Jelf-o-lo" it's not a real word.
The name of the TV Series was Italia Italia and the story was based on an Italian guy coming to Iran and marrying a rich Iranian women. The opening song was from the group Bonny M which was dubbed in Farsi.

It's true, the song is a cover of Ma Baker, by Boney M. But maybe you don't know that Boney M made a cover.
Ma Baker is a cover of a traditional tunisian folk song, named Sidi Mansour, that you can watch on youtube (watch?v=McGE_K73T-o)
