I have an M3A79-T Deluxe AM2+ and a Crosshair III Formula ROG Am3. Guess what? the m3a79-T Was able to Overclock the FSB to 245, and the Crosshair III would only reach 225 FSB. However the Crosshair III Formual has a PCI-E Sound card rather than the on-board sound (which uses CPU clocks to run).

@pancakezombie13 Of course, but you won't be taking full advantage of it. Plus it has a NB heat issue for about half of them. Find a simpler board without a 50/50 chance of having to tweak it. Working on fixing mine..
@Monotone55 Well, I usually take more on the sides of expanding other than out-preforming, sooo... to make it work as you want it you have to tweak it then? ok ill try to find another board that has all of the options or more :3 thx for that
Hi Axel.. it wirks fine with no problems! and even works with core unlocker which means the processors individual cores are boosted up to 18.5% quicker when required!
This motherboard and the 1100t is an excellent combernation!

yup,you certainly can,ive got the asus m4a79 deluxe and it also runs 4 video cards as well(they have to be single slot coolers on each gpu though or water cooling as well is possible)

@MajorCoffey yep as long as it is an ati G.C. and the motherboard will most likely support your hdd... If it is a IDE then i think you are out of luck cause i am not seeing a IDE port on here... hope this answes your question
In the specs it says this motherboard supports 1600 (O.C.) does this mean you have to change Bios settings to make DDR3 1600 RAM work? Can you explain how to do this/what this is?
@nalakatt0 if you run cross fire and dont get a better CPU over clock your 250 there is going to be a bottleneck and the CPU will drag down your videos card

@ieNzYm You can not run SLI on an AMD chipset. It ill support crossfire only as far as I know. If you want to run SLI, I suggest you get an nForce board, they should be fine for it. Otherwise get ATI cards and run CFX.

And for you're info, my Gigabyte board is "only crossfire" capable, but i have a NVIDIA 8800 GT as a physx card and running 5770 cross fire fine no issues.

@XGViper2gamer Try to even the length of the heat sink screws. I've seen it on another video about this board made by WestCoastMods. It's kinda late, but hope it works.
@saik0pod Not sure? Pproduction, many do, some don't. They say the heatsink issue is not big deal. For the price you paid for it let me know if you really satisfied with things you like, things you don't and if that price was worth. This is a Brand Name, proclaimed republic of gamers. Do they include you and is your efforts said to be of importance or a member of there repbulic. In general, republic includes all public. Do they support your ideas? Any industry can be.
@XGViper2gamer You have to fix this board yourself. RMAing this board might only get you another one with the same problem. 6 out of 10 of these boards have this problem. I took off the heatsink, grounded down the standoffs on the NB to the same height as those on the SB, took of the old thermal wax, put on some OCZ freeze, then put back on the heatsink, now everything is good. SB is 42c, NB is 48c, it doesn't get any better than that unless you have side fans on your case and A/C

The last two are right next to each other. The 5770 is a dual slot card, so the other half of the card would cover the 4th slot.
Why 4 5770's? Get you some 6870's or a 5870/6950/6970.

@ieNzYm You can not run SLI on an AMD chipset. It ill support crossfire only as far as I know. If you want to run SLI, I suggest you get an nForce board, they should be fine for it. Otherwise get ATI cards and run CFX.

@NOXXism if ur running sli intel is the only way to go, the hydra chips are awful and so are the old nForce chipsets, radeon 6000 series is just around the corner tho and maybe you wont need sli anyways. wait a moth and see.

@Xyllianos The new ASUS Crosshair IV Formula allows both SLI and Crossfire TOGETHER.
And for you're info, my Gigabyte board is "only crossfire" capable, but i have a NVIDIA 8800 GT as a physx card and running 5770 cross fire fine no issues.

@hosrom no, the formula remains the same, the extreme tho runs the hudra chip wich isnt sli or crossfire, its their ow thing, and running a physx card with a ati card is not running any kind of crossfire or sli, now stfu son.

Even though this is an 890FX chipset, im low on cash, so i was wondering will it support an Nvidia 9600GT? My current system is Nvidia, if i buy this motherboard i will have to buy new ram and GPU, but i cant afford a new GPU...

@DevilGene66 There is no official release date and of course no pricing information yet. but u can sell away both gtx 480 and buy 2 5870. here in finland if u pick up 2 cheapest 5870 instead of 2 cheapest 480 u save arround 160 euros

@compad id rather keep both gtx 480's. they perform better than the 5870 in most games. and i can run it with nvidia 3d vision.
i will wait for the crosshair iv extreme motherboard to be released and then use a gtx 480 with a 5870.

i come to a menu , to choose a OS - operating system.
it was my first time build, so i just selected bootdevice immidiatly, and boom.
could i have choosed how many secs. to get into bios, in bios??

@saik0pod Not sure? Pproduction, many do, some don't. They say the heatsink issue is not big deal. For the price you paid for it let me know if you really satisfied with things you like, things you don't and if that price was worth. This is a Brand Name, proclaimed republic of gamers. Do they include you and is your efforts said to be of importance or a member of there repbulic. In general, republic includes all public. Do they support your ideas? Any industry can be.

@XGViper2gamer You have to fix this board yourself. RMAing this board might only get you another one with the same problem. 6 out of 10 of these boards have this problem. I took off the heatsink, grounded down the standoffs on the NB to the same height as those on the SB, took of the old thermal wax, put on some OCZ freeze, then put back on the heatsink, now everything is good. SB is 42c, NB is 48c, it doesn't get any better than that unless you have side fans on your case and A/C
