Hey maybe a tip for you to try and instill in her...try to get her to strafe when in a firefight. I notice she just stands there and gets shot lol. Especially when using Stalker, it helps evade many bullets(as you may know)

I never switch to my secondary weapon haha. the majority of the time that i would switch to my secondary is only when I am completely out of ammo (almost never cuz I run Scavanger). But each to their own.

@GlennBurgs Right, that's what I was saying, if you are in the middle of a gun fight, and low on ammo, or out of ammo, switch to your secondary instead of trying to reload.
