I would call this herbert SOUL, sounds a bit like The Housemartins, and they were influenced mostly by Northern/Tamla SOUL and some punk. To my knowledge, they were the only ever skinhead soul band. Also the first to have a more sporty style (adidas trainers/boots)

The drummer Paul can still be found playing in bands and the bassist Martin is now a music teacher. As for the frontman Chris not much has been seen of him since the late 80s.

My friend bumped into him on a Paris bus - he had his carte orange and everything in perfect order but no recent news of recent REDSKINS movement to the best of my knowledge. Bass Man sometimes gets contacted by specialist British press...I loved their brass section...I mean no style wahwahtsover just pure groove + feeling + precision. Dean rules Ok

Weren't the Newtown Neurotics really involved as well? They were one of my all time fave bands of that era...along with Bragg. No one really gives a shit anymore about the state of affairs.
