Those with caps turned sideways, butt cracks showing, thinking that they know what music might be, need to listen to this and see what real music can be....
In case anyone is puzzled by the lyric, " will change to fair as blue", which of course makes absolutely no sense, what Jo is actually singing is 'will change to ferris blue'. Ferris blue is a very light and lovely shade of blue, although the term has fallen so far out of common use that you really have to search to find references to it on the internet. I had a vague recollection of having heard the term in my childhood, which prompted me to verify that I wasn't imagining it!
How i wish that my beloved mother at 93 would hear this songs of yesteryears. I know that she loves the songs of Jo Stafford. I would like to thank you people for posting her songs.
With this song, I,m hoping to reunite w/ a long lost friend. "Sometime" was one of her favorite song and the flipside song "NOL" by Jo Stafford. Remember the Gudadalupe bridge west side you have a variety store w/ jukebox playing. If you get this message I just want to say hello and ask how have you been all these years. Victor Nevada USA.
Amazingly, this song (written by Eddy Arnold) was recorded in 1950 or '51 by Jo Stafford. Musically, it is timeless and could have been recorded today. The words are also timeless and beautiful. Favorited! Thanks for posting this lovely, gentle song.
Found this song by accident .Just beautifull and like many other nice songs of old the sadness of losing our precious daughter is with us again.. The sadness of her not being with us will never end
This song brings back memories. It reminds me of someone very dear to me. Today's technoloogy gave it more meaning and beauty....what with the spectacular videos showing at every line of the song... Well done!
Never heard this song prior to You Tube within the last year as I searched for songs by Miss Stafford. Oh, Lord,...what a gentle background arrangement...just a singer and musicians...no 'yellers' and 'noisicians'...we held each other when we danced and songs ended in about three minutes...and we dressed decently even if our folks were not rich... Tunesmith
I grew up listening this song everytime the generator and the public address system were being tested in Pulong Tamo, San Ildefonso, Bulacan - that must me November or early December in the 1960s.. Lagi ito at ang flip-side na "No Other Love"- Si Tata Benny at Nana Linda na hindi nagkatuluyan, very sad and tragic. I knew that Tata Benny loved Nana Linda very much but he was afflicted with TB and one Saturday, I knew it, he went to her house and talk to her, giving her the freedom to fly away.
It is a long time since I listened to this beautiful song. This is a really lovely rendition and I thank you for sharing it. Thanks too, to sessnazx for recommending it to me.
This is a great addition to my "favourites" and "playlist".
I was a little boy when I first heard this song. A 78rpm capitol record from my grandmother's old grundig phonograph that needs to be manually operated. The flip side is the song No Other Love. I'm now in my 50's and yet never get tired of listening to these two great songs. keep up the good work sir!
Great songs by a great vocalist. We danced to these songs at school, 1951 Nanaimo

It is so hard to find her music anywhere. I'd love to have her stuff, or at least some of it.

Very rare record. As far as I know it is not issued on her LP in 50s -70s. Thank you very much. And your video is marvelous...
As for Jo Stafford she is beyound time and space. I live in Ukraine but she is my loveliest singer.
