  • i enjoyed his voice :)

  • What a game!

For a moment worried me since made me too alienated. The part of the man that never leaves his room.

Only downside, if so, it is too short to finish. That might be good also.

  • I love this game but I can't play it anymore on win 7. Any ideas anyone?

  • @DAHKSYDE DOSbox?

  • i own the book and the movie sucked in bringing it out. vincint price sucked like hell in this movie, it had nothing to do with lust and sin (WTF!) it was all about the ball and the beautiful yet grotesque "dreams" stalking to and fro. hell they red the book at the begining why did the assholes not get it. and when the masque actully happened, it did a half assed job in bringing it out. Vincint, an epic fail.

  • @TheSomeguy101 I agree. Most of the movie adaptations of Poe's stories have been disastrous. In many cases it's because the length of the story didn't lend itself to a feature film; in other cases it's because the director/screenwriter can't stop himself from creating his/her "vision" of the tale; as if Poe's original concepts aren't good enough to begin with.

Another writer whose works have suffered the same fate is H.P. Lovecraft.

  • @jjobie it is sad isnt it?

  • @jjobie :

" in other cases it's because the director/screenwriter can't stop himself from creating his/her "vision" of the tale; as if Poe's original concepts aren't good enough to begin with."

That seems to me impossible to avoid.

Of course there are fails, like The Time Machine movie. What a shit movie. If you read the book then watch the movie you will get really angry.

The Evil Eye in my opinion is a great adaptation of Poe to visual.

  • x1334

  • This narrator sounds like Pat Paulsen.

  • why do they put old people to narrate? ffs

  • because this was made during a time that the masses had respect for its elders; and viewed its elders as not just old but wise with something to say and worth hearing.

  • Yeah, and why, of all people, William S. Burroughs?

  • the narrator is fucked up DRUNK!!!

    (good story though)

  • Burroughs was a trip and a half... Naked Lunch, anyone?

  • And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.

  • The ending, my favorite part

    !

  • mine too :P

  • I remember doing this for my English Higher. Truely scarly

  • reminds me of ´thepriest´with cobain, he has done more audios, hasnt him ?who got the list ?

  • Yes, the rooms represent the seven stages of life from Shakespeare's "The Seven Ages of Man":

    Birth

    Infant

    Schoolboy

    Lover

    Soldier

    Justice

    Death

Amazing story! Poe sure knows how to scare you.

  • umm...sorry to say this, but some of the ending is missing. Well... Poe used those color for a reason , they have meanings.

  • can we get the game for a mac?

  • I've heard much better readings. I might have to upload one in particular which was excellent.

  • William S. Burroughs has a very talented voice, you must admit... Wow, Butters, you picked it up for a buck? Nice!

  • Hey you guys i have this game. It turns out my parents got it from a 99 cent store. it costed a 1 dollar!that was years ago. maybe i can do the gameplay.

  • Great narration, but! The quality of it is poor, so I can't understand almost nothing =(, anyway, thanks for uploading this video! Does someone knows where to find the game?

  • Ebay

  • thanks for posting this. im doing a school project on it.

  • william s. burroughs!!!

  • I was a tech for Inscape when we made The Dark Eye, The Resident's Bad Day on the Midway and Devo's Smart Patrol. the company went under when Warner pulled the plug, does anyone have info on how to get versions of these games that run on the internet or modern computers?

  • Someone needs to upload a run of the game from start to finish on here. I never got a chance to play it myself.

  • That's another thing I was going to do. Upload play throughs of obscure games like Phantasmagoria, The Dark Eye, etc.

  • @Samoth06 if you find it, lemme know???

  • Great! but I wish the traduction in spanish.

  • I wish this game was more widely available. Thanks for posting this.

  • Thank you for posting this classic from the amazing Dark Eye game.. A classic narration from the master William S Burroughs himself.

  • Thanks for posting. I loved "The Dark Eye". Could you post Annabel Lee?

  • When I review The Dark Eye, I will.

  • I assumed you had reviewed it or played since you posted this segment. ?
