  • We can appreciate this great tradition without apology. I used to worship in the Free Church of Scotland. But there is no need for vitriol on other expressions. It hurts the message of the Free Church. Blessings!

  • The pope is the Antichrist and man of sin. Christ does not have a dual nature but two distinct and entire natures in one person for ever.

  • @TheLordAwaked ... as far as I know, the Pope is Christian too... and were it not for the Catholic Church, of which he is the temporal head (Jesus Christ is THE head of the Catholic Church, the Pope is His representative on earth), neither Christ nor His message would have been known.

  • @fiorella1021 I'm sorry that you are so miss lead. The catholic Church did not introduce Christ to the world, they would rather have you pray to his mother Mary, who is only a human being such as we are and all these other saints that they have you pray to are also just human. You can pray directily to Christ. Please read your new testament. The Catholic Church tried to burn all religious books years ago that Martin Luther wrote who was also a priest but realized the errors in the church.

  • @rupke99 ... pardon me, Rupke, but I don't understand how you can contend that it was not the Church established by Christ who introduced Him to the world. Where was Martin Luther when Peter was being martired? Where was Calvin when Paul was executed? Where were all the various heretics who did not want to believe in Christ's dual nature when the first Christians were being devoured for sport? Oh, please, let it go!!! Your beef with Saints & the Blessed Mother is just 2 sad for words.

  • Where is the recording from?

  • Thank you for posting these! I love the Psalms, it is very hard to find a good rendition on youtube. Please keep posting!

  • Beautiful! Thank you so much for posting this. I am an FP.

I wonder what the same choir would sound like singing it a Capella.

How encouraging to read here below of believers in France and CH that love to sing Psalms.

  • Thank you for posting this. I often wonder why we have allowed our tradition to be written out of the church they way it has. Beautiful!!

  • Outstanding

  • Why is electric music "artificial"? God spoke to Faraday, Edison and Tesla. Did he not?

  • love these- thanks!!!

  • One of my favourite Psalms ever. This way sounds even more bautiful.

  • Yes great I always think it's a shame when Psalm 130 is sung to anything other than "Martyrdom". It brings back memories of sailing on the Loch Seaforth from Stornoway to Kyle and the dawn coming up.

  • I grew up the Congregational Church and sang in the choir for years. This is brings such memories. Thank you for sharing this video with us. Our LORD is Worthy of All Praise!

  • I am French - Irish and it is almost impossible in France to find a protestant congregation that sings the psalms in a comparable manner. French reformed churches are devastated by liberal theology. I wish future generations will rediscover their rich protestant heritage. Thanks for sharing.

  • I come from a conservative church in Switzerland and we always sing the old hymns. I am on an exchange in Aberdeen right now studying English Literature and Gaelic. I was so afraid I wouldn't find any church with a bit more traditional music and not the modern stuff, one normally finds nowadays. I was so pleasantly surprised to find a church still singing the old Psalms a capella which is so beautiful and helps you concenrate on the lyrics so much more.

  • If you enjoy tradional music and are studying gaelic then you should take a trip to the Outer Hebrides. Alot of the Churches there still sing the old fashion way of singing in Gaelic(giving out the line)

  • I am actually going to Lewis and Harris with a friend of mine during the Easter vacation. I am quite excited about, having heard so much about the beauty of the place.

  • I'm actually just back from a two month stay there. The singing was in the native language, Gaelic, but it was beautiful. And the beaches on Harris are beautiful!

  • @larkinthesky

    The Free Church?

  • @Moireach91 Yeah, exactly.

  • @larkinthesky Good stuff, glad you enjoyed it!

  • that was lovely, i sing in my local roman catholic church choir and that would be a beautifull setting for psalm 130 on the appointed day. awesome

thank you so much for posting

  • Thank you for posting this Psalm. It is beautiful.

  • Lets please do away with all electrical and artificial music and pop-toned gospel in Church.

Nothing in the whole wide world can beat this and the Psalms are directly derived from the Word of the LORD.

  • Amen

  • Yesss!

  • Nice to hear this from a young guy like you

  • Thank you! I'm glad to know that there are others out there that think like me. That's why I'm always commenting on other people's sensible comments.

  • Hi SamTexan, I have notice you have removed your previous.. i'm curious of what you have wrote.

  • Right - it had showed up in the wrong place so I deleted it. It's up again now. I also wrote this, which may appear further down.

Starting at 1:58 and ending at 2:36 is the most beautiful rendition of any simple harmonization I've ever heard. Truly splendid work. It's good to experiment with the harmonizations...such as quarter notes and slurs etc but one must do it without spoiling it with modernity. For example - 2:02 to 2:05 is a beautiful example, in the alto section, if I'm not mistaking.

  • Soli Deo Gloria!

  • Psalm singing is the best, i think it's such a shame we have moved away from what the bible has to offer us in sining to modern muci in church! The psalms are full of encouragement! Thanks

  • You're right on. Thank you.

  • Thanks, John. This is one of my favourite Psalms. Thank God for His encouraging Words to us.

  • Great tune ~!!!!

  • =JESUS=IS=LORD=

  • Thankyou for sharing. A soothing video with beautiful images. GOD bless you.

  • nice

  • Truly a wonderful Psalm & video! I love this Psalm 130 & it holds a special place in my heart. I think this is my fav video too! To God be the glory! many Blessings.

  • What a beautiful video! This is one of my favorite Psalms. I love the Psalms and have only just started listening to Psalm singing in the last several months. One can learn so much about the Lord by listening to them every day and it is a good way to help one to commit the Psalms to memory. It is a shame that Psalm singing has gone out of style and been replaced in a lot of churches with contemporary Christian music.

  • I love this! Thank you for sharing this with me. The Word truly brings peace to my heart and the music calm to my soul. How good our God is that He loves us before we could even know Him, and even though none of us deserves to be with Him, His desire is to be with us.

  • Beautiful song and images,,, great video. Thank you..

  • Great vid! Thanks!

  • God Bless ! it brings peace in my heart! thx..

  • "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity..." Titus 2:13

  • great work
