  • there was a sense of decency; a sense of broughtupsey!

    you know it!

  • Blessings, great sign of times!

Tunes in the back - who dem a chant?

  • looks up laid blak then best bristol regga thes days and if not u remeber golden heen

  • the rastafarian movement was strong!

and something went terribly wrong along the way that brought bad vibes through their music, thus turning it slowly into rap and hip hop, and now ? where have the roots gone !?

  • @Snypro i hear you but I've got to say that Hip hop was an extension of Rastas peaceful and good message, the 'bad vibes' came about thru the commercialisation and the switch of power from the youth on the street to the greedy man in the office, the roots in are alive and well tho, just for the most part unheard in amongst the wealth of lost and misguided crap put out by the music industry

  • Big shame =(

Can you give me any names of these current Rootsmen ?

I'm really interested in the reggae style mostly between '73 and '83, but I've ran out of bands! help xD

    cheers!

  • @STEPASAUR cudnt have put it better myself

  • @Snypro their is still very good, consious reggae music. you are probably referring to dancehall music which is a different genre even though its still jamaican music.
