I dont get the heat thing. my 6950 overcloked idles at 50c and never gets above 57c under full load overclocked to the max slide bar settings with MSI afterburner in 3dmark 11
@Ri1seAgainst 50c is a good temp to idle at, some people with nvidia cards idle at 80c which is bad. I just ran the crysis bench 1680x1050 8x AA everything very high. with its max over clock with MSI afterburner and using the MSI on screen diagnostic and it was only using 80-85% of the gpu's power in them and was barely getting passed 70c. I could over clock this even more and still be safe
@PsiloCybinDreamX hitting 60fps average explains nothing you could be playing minecraft my 570 idles at 30c I've never heard of 80c idle maybe under load yes my 570 can hit 80c under 100% load on the lowest fan setting but with a 10% fan increase under full load it hits 65c max with a pretty high overclock aswell
@Ri1seAgainst I got up to the 70's under full load but I didnt mess with the voltage or anything like that. Its gpu load was around 80% so i think a nice upgrade of ram and processor will help :)
@costi08 Its not bullshit hes just explaining the 2gb models. Im no "fanboy" of either. Im all about price vs performance and heat.Like it really matters I used a 6950 and can max out any game. you said in this video that the 2gb that the 6950 has helps in crossfire so in essence if i got the 2gb gainward 560 ti and put them in sil mode would they perform better than the 1gb 560 ti's?
@mustanggtxps3 i can answer than and not really, the only real performance boost you will see is if you crank the fuck out of everything to the max. this is if the game actually even needs the extra gpu memory too. if it doesnt the performance would be close. my friend has a 1gb 6950 and I have the 2gb model and mine only gets 2-3 more fps than his
he's right about the heat . my 560 stays well around 45 (113 farenheit) degrees celsius while easily playing the highest settings possible . but when i went to a friends house that got exactly the card presented in the video , the program said it was around 70 to 80 celsius (158-176).

No. Those are different chips and different memory. Ti has more cuda cores than a regular 560. You used to be able to use 2 of the same cards with different memory, but that doesn't work on newer Nvidias.
i got one 6950 2gig on my alienware i want a extra amd 6950 2gig and want them in crossfire witch 6950 i need to get and how te hell i get them in crossfire
6870 seems like a better deal for me. i got one at 3 months ago the powercolour one. thinking of getting another next year when the price goes down. then i get comparable performance with the gtx 580
I just ordered the Gigabyte 560 OC (non-ti) for $150 after rebates. Then save up for another for SLI if it doesn't run BF3 smoothly. I sold my 3 year old GTX460 since it wasn't cutting it. I have a Z68 mobo so I wanted to stay with Geforce for Virtu. Strangely, Virtu crashes with BF3! GTC560 TI was not worth it IMO after SLI...
@GonorrheaHD not at all...unless your running very very high end "other" components..but if 2 6950s is your only concern then 850 watt is more than enough. you can google it "how much psu is need for crossfire" (yes not the best english i know) , 1st result should be more than enough ;)

Hey I am new at computer gaming I know a lot about computers but I need to know that the AMD RADEON 6950 is that a different graphics card then the croosfire AMD RADEON 6950
@XXNAVYSEALX No, it isn't a different card but another one. AMD 6950 in crossfire means that two 6950 are working as one to give more performance to your PC. Much like Raid0 with HDD. Crossfire or Xfire etc is for AMD cards and for nVidia cards it's called SLI. You can Xfire, Tri-fire and Quad-fire them, same applies to nVidia.
In order for this to work it HAS to be two of the SAME cards. You can't Xfire a 6950 and a 6870 because it won't work. Same applies to nVidia.
HELP! I'm building my first windows gaming pc (coming from a mac background) and I'm trying not to go above £850 GBP. I'm getting an Intel i5 2500k w/ 8GB RAM as well as 650W corsair and an Asus P8P67 LE. For hard drives its a 60GB SSD for OS and a 1TB HDD for data. Should I get an Asus DCII overclocked 1GB GTX 560 Ti or an Asus DCII overclocked 2GB HD 6950? I can't spend any more than that.
@98GuitarTECH Hmmm. Although Corsair does produce very good quality, it is on the expensive side. I'd recommend you use an OCZ ModXStream 600W for this gaming PC. It's very good quality, it produces enough wattage, and it's cheaper. For the RAM, get the cheapest (yes, I said CHEAPEST) 8GB kit you can find, as long as it's 1333 or higher. Now. You should get the 6950 because you can unlock it to the 6970 and it's just faster than the 560 Ti overall, and with the money you've saved
@98GuitarTECH on the components I've listed, change your motherboard from the P8P67 LE to the Asus P8Z68-V PRO. It's just a much better motherboard for gaming overall and you get several different features like onboard Bluetooth, LucidLogix Virtu technology, better overclocking capabilities and much much more.
Im building a new pc. Im in a budget and i dont know what Psu do i need. It will have a radeon hd 6870 and a amd phenom II 965. What psu do you guys recommend me?
The AMD card chosen should've been in the GTX 560 price range to be FAIR. Something like the HD 6850...lol. Or up the GTX to an ti version which is still a bit cheaper than the 6950 and then let's see the results.
@undefeated29 It is a Ti. Look at the comparison charts, you'll see he's comparing the GTX 560 Ti. You silly goose.
By the way, I'm finding the GTX 560 Ti for around £185 on websites, whereas the 6950 is typically only about £10 more. It looks like the 2GB 6950 is way better value for money...?
@ProSniperrifle youre bether of whit a 6950. due to that it has 2 gig ram and even if that dont showe now in tests it will handel newer game bether than the 560-570 in the future. plus even though they used old drivers in this video crossofire is mucth bether than SLI and if you look around the 6950 in crossfire is even bether than two 580 in sli in som aplications. so in the long turn the 6950 is bether if you are thinking of going Crossfire in the future.
hi im still a novice to this stuff, so i have 3 questions:
1 how do i know how much i can overclock the gpu ?
2 how does it work in sli mode ? do i have to overclock one card, so it automatically overclocks the second one, or do i have to overclock them separately ?.
3 when you run in sli mode, does the power consumption doubles as well?
@nmarkus666 yeah i use it regularly . but you know, theres alot of people online here on youtube, so I thought, why not? ''maybe someone will reply'' haha not gonna count on that one next time. back to google :P thanks.
Ok so you talk about amd and ATI/crossfire cards but what about amd and sli/gtx cards ?
my new setup is the am3 black box 6 core" the new one ",16 gig of chunky ram,and 2x gtx560 in SLI
Over the last few months more and more people have been going with the 560's or higher in the gtx range but still sticking to the intell cpu ( then cry about not pulling in the frames that i am getting ) close to 165 in bf3 on max settings ,
to name a few bandicam, ATI tray tool, and often times in game console commands are (I'm assuming) used for showing FPS/changing settings on the graphics card/ benchmarking/ taking pictures, etc.
I find NVIDIA GPUs to be better...Better drivers, less heat and noise and more games supports them rather than ATI GPUs and ATI GPUs drivers are a pain in the butt.
what about 560 TI 448's VS Saphire 6950 crossfire

In order for this to work it HAS to be two of the SAME cards. You can't Xfire a 6950 and a 6870 because it won't work. Same applies to nVidia.

itll be cool but that last card is going to have the worst scaling. I'd save the cash for your upgrade to the next generation if I were you
MrJohnw93 3 months ago
@MrJohnw93 So, 2-way Crossfire instead then?

@Olaipai thats what i would do

@xLjle he blinks in between frames.

@xLjle Or maybe he blinks only when you do causing you not to see it thus giving the illusion that he does not blink.

Is not having PhysX a big deal really? Becasue the only reason why I'm considering a 560 Ti instead of 6950 is becasue of PhysX?

98GuitarTECH 3 months ago
@98GuitarTECH That is NOT Crossfire/SLI btw, thanks for the help!
98GuitarTECH 3 months ago
@98GuitarTECH Hmmm. Although Corsair does produce very good quality, it is on the expensive side. I'd recommend you use an OCZ ModXStream 600W for this gaming PC. It's very good quality, it produces enough wattage, and it's cheaper. For the RAM, get the cheapest (yes, I said CHEAPEST) 8GB kit you can find, as long as it's 1333 or higher. Now. You should get the 6950 because you can unlock it to the 6970 and it's just faster than the 560 Ti overall, and with the money you've saved
rooo1o 3 months ago
@98GuitarTECH on the components I've listed, change your motherboard from the P8P67 LE to the Asus P8Z68-V PRO. It's just a much better motherboard for gaming overall and you get several different features like onboard Bluetooth, LucidLogix Virtu technology, better overclocking capabilities and much much more.
rooo1o 3 months ago
A 650 will be more than enough and leave room for future upgrades

i dont think the lower end power supply will affect someone decision if they're gonna dump 5 or 6 hundred bucks down on vid cards
SupremeAmerican 4 months ago
Kinda dumb to compare these cards.
The AMD card chosen should've been in the GTX 560 price range to be FAIR. Something like the HD 6850...lol. Or up the GTX to an ti version which is still a bit cheaper than the 6950 and then let's see the results.
undefeated29 4 months ago
@undefeated29 It is a Ti. Look at the comparison charts, you'll see he's comparing the GTX 560 Ti. You silly goose.
By the way, I'm finding the GTX 560 Ti for around £185 on websites, whereas the 6950 is typically only about £10 more. It looks like the 2GB 6950 is way better value for money...?
Terrr05 3 months ago
would a 700 power supply work ok for the radeon 6950?

@eliteMH reccomended that you only need a min of 500 watt for a single card

italianHD 4 months ago
So.. what should I buy? looks like the 6950 is better, but i would rather other people to help me decide ^^ I really want whats best for my pc.
ProSniperrifle 4 months ago
@ProSniperrifle youre bether of whit a 6950. due to that it has 2 gig ram and even if that dont showe now in tests it will handel newer game bether than the 560-570 in the future. plus even though they used old drivers in this video crossofire is mucth bether than SLI and if you look around the 6950 in crossfire is even bether than two 580 in sli in som aplications. so in the long turn the 6950 is bether if you are thinking of going Crossfire in the future.
ps.6950 consumes less power too

@theLexisama Alright cheers

hi im still a novice to this stuff, so i have 3 questions:
1 how do i know how much i can overclock the gpu ?
2 how does it work in sli mode ? do i have to overclock one card, so it automatically overclocks the second one, or do i have to overclock them separately ?.
3 when you run in sli mode, does the power consumption doubles as well?
thanks in advance.

my rig cost less than $1,000 to make my self, got a quote for it and the in shop price would have been closer to $2,000,
I am not just a gamer but also do 3d design, so i do have a back up pc but still amd, But this time in CrossFire -Radeon HD6870
and yet plays games as good as my old gts 250's in amd sli with the same rig as my new setup
TheDrunkenkiller 4 months ago
Ok so you talk about amd and ATI/crossfire cards but what about amd and sli/gtx cards ?
my new setup is the am3 black box 6 core" the new one ",16 gig of chunky ram,and 2x gtx560 in SLI
Over the last few months more and more people have been going with the 560's or higher in the gtx range but still sticking to the intell cpu ( then cry about not pulling in the frames that i am getting ) close to 165 in bf3 on max settings ,
TheDrunkenkiller 4 months ago
the 560's should have been ti to make it fair
bumblebee24100 4 months ago
@UzumakiNarutoKun96 You do know there are more than just fraps right?
to name a few bandicam, ATI tray tool, and often times in game console commands are (I'm assuming) used for showing FPS/changing settings on the graphics card/ benchmarking/ taking pictures, etc.
kudeeray 4 months ago
I find NVIDIA GPUs to be better...Better drivers, less heat and noise and more games supports them rather than ATI GPUs and ATI GPUs drivers are a pain in the butt.
AosaBid 4 months ago
@AosaBid Ati processor unit are more advanced then nVidia.
But nVidia video card get better game developers optimisation due to nVidia pay extra money for that.
In other words nVidia pay money so ATI will get bad performance in games.
