  • I was once battling Ruby Weapon, and when he got defeated, I was "trapped" in the battle. I could use the commands, and I escaped by using an item (I don't remember its name). After that, Ruby had "sunk" in the sand-only his head was visible. If anyone has ever experienced it, or knows why it happened, I would like to know.

  • i was like what the hell is he doing? hes just healing then i realized he poisoned him so he was getting a very slow death lol silly me

  • how do u duu dat

  • does anyone know a cheat that will give you everthing in the game of ff7 and not the jap version please

  • WTF

  • Wow I still can't believe how everytime I think of something for FF you've already done it. lol

  • You're in great luck if you want to do something for FF3 (not FF6), 10, 11, and 13 and beyond. I don't have access to FF3 and I dislike FF10. Until FF3 is released on a console (not a handheld system), I cannot play it. It may be a year or two (if not longer) before I give FF10 another go, like was the case with FF8 (that was about 6 years). I refuse to play games requiring the Internet to run and I don't have the system for FF13 and later and may not get it for another a year or two.

  • @ulillillia I did play the hell out of FF10 with over 300 hours going on 400 but the most I did was defeat all the enemies. (not includeding penence mind you since that only in the jap version.) and complete the sphere grid with all the characters. Really though I've played more FF7 then any other FF and I'm glad you've made these vids. Right now I'm working on stat maxing and getting all the items.

  • @ulillillia ff3/6 is on virtual consol now

  • man i love this game!!!!

  • This has happened to me a few times with multiple monsters/bosses on the PS1 version and also the PSP one.

  • LMAO gotta love glitchs

  • He dies of the Poison DoT from the Bio.

  • its probably because since the enemy is so large and flashing green b/c of poison, the game probably thought the poison flashing was the death flashing and skipped the entire death animation.

  • Simple. That's because you're not supposed to beat Zolom the first time you fight it.

  • I ran into a similar glitch a few times at the Northern Crater, usually with the Allemagne. When Vincent Mugs it and the steal is successful, the battle just ends. Weird stuff.

  • pretty cool

  • I wanted to get me level up alot ages ago by using the snake. It took 20 mins for it to run into me

  • Sephiroth kills it.... Cloud has A CRAZY DANCE PARTY with it....

  • it looks to me like you've charm'd the serpent!

by the end of the video, everyone-- including the snake-- is happy and dancing!

    in this case, everyone wins!

    1,000,000,000exp for everyone!

  • A billion exp is no better than 2.7 million, which is what you need for level 99.

  • @ulillillia Overflow exp makes them level 999? :D

  • Overflow shouldn't affect level. It wouldn't even happen until you pass 2,147,483,647, if exp is logged as a signed int. In that case, 1 more and you'll have -2,147,483,648. Who knows what that will do to level. If exp is unsigned, however, then you'll need to continue until you pass 4,294,967,295.

  • @ulillillia Yeah I was just being silly, Not that there's even a point to overflowing your level even if you could xD and if you had a minus level, like - 10, would you basically just kill yourself lol :D

  • i had this glitch that the midgar zolom wasnt there i was walking around the area and im playing it in my psp so i kinda skip midgar zolom hahahha

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • if you kill the zolom it remains there in that area i think there is more than one zolom

  • There's actually only one zolom present. Upon defeating it, however, a new one instantly appears to make up for it.

  • @dragonbaas Well considering way back when i was at that point i had just seen sephiroths over kill then got ambushed that could be a good theory.

  • how do u have so much health if this is your first encounter with him..you should be like lvl 17

  • It's what happens when you level up... a lot. I've never had anyone not on level 99 by the time I completed disk 1. I've had bolt 2 before I first see the game's overworld when starting a new game. See my "leveling grounds" videos for details on how this is done, and in reasonable time (the third isn't a decent one). Another is the Junon alarm method, of which I have no experience with, but only heard about. In FF6, I get meteor and ultima in the first world (I have a video to prove this).

  • Why the hell are you level 30 fighting the Midgar Zolom?

  • was that before you passed the marsh and went into the cave? because its supposed to show the cut scene where the midgar zolom was impaled on the tree.

  • This was before, but it can happen at any time you want. It takes some luck though, but it can be done no matter where you are in the game, provided you can encounter the snake to begin with.

  • quite.....a....bit...of.......skill...to find the zolom?........you stand in the friggin marsh and wait for it to attack you -.-

  • What I referred to by luck was the reproducing of the glitch in this video.

  • all you need to do apparently is use bio...then omni slash or 2x cut with the ultima weapon or catastrophe or whatever...if you know how its done at a high level it requires little luck

  • oh no for fixed camera angle... bleck

  • I hate the camera movement as it's distracting.

  • you're on active battle time, yet you're waiting to cast a spell until someone's turn is over... o.O

  • That's the primary weak point of the ATB system. FF4 and FF5 don't have that problem but FF6 and onward do. While actions or effects are taking place, no one can take their action (and their bar won't reset until it does) until all others' actions (both ally and enemy) have completed. This is why spells like haste and slow have almost no effect or use. FF12 does have some effect, but the same basic weakness is still present - the bar won't reset until the action and effects are completed.

  • What I was saying is that, and this is all just on preference, is that when the zolom clearly targeted someone, he waits until the damage is done before selecting the person to cast the spell on.

  • @Vareal

I think that was because he was making sure the snakes attack actually hit before he cast the cure spell.

  • what lvl was red ?

  • @oblivion495 level 30

  • It seems no one ever renamed their folks... all Cloud, Barret, Red... I had given them different names. Barret, for example, was B.A. :-)

  • The names don't have any effect on gameplay. I've always left names at their defaults.

  • i renamed all mine based on a story i'm writing. Cloud is Zippy Tifa is Tiffany Red XIII is Zack Barret is Ray Aeris is Lauren Vincent is Leon Yuffie is Krystal Cait Sith is Justin Cid is Jerry (i think that's everyone lol)...after i beat the one im on now, i'm gonna restart another one and base the names on movie charatchers. I already got Jason Bourne in mind lol
  • lol furries i'll give you 3 guesses as to what i am referring to

  • @shadow11145 LMFAO!!!

  • <3 The battle music, so many memories.

  • thats all the xp you get for that beast? bs

  • I know, it's pathetic. It should be something more around 1200ish.

  • lmao

  • 3:23 lol seems to be raped by stars xd

  • @BlackZeroSlash hahahahahh

  • O god, this thing, i remember this. I had this glitch happen to me once, wtf was my first thought. Nothing weird after the glitch.

  • I got a strange bug while fighting Ruby Weapon in a solo Cloud fight. I defeated it, it became red, then Cloud attempted to mime an Omnislash (Counter-Mime set up)...and then nothing! The fight just didn't stop and I had to use a smoke bomb to end it.

  • You get him on your team like Yuffie

  • I remember this happening a few times...

  • He actually did - 0 HP remains, poison status defeated it and since a long enough delay occurred to result in poison striking twice, my hypothesis is that the first damage is what defeated it. I'd have to do more tests to confirm....

  • you can go fight it again anyway it still dies after the fight

  • Lol...Strange but cool!!

  • its like he stood up and said- i declare you 3 winner's. and then they dance XD

  • lmfao. That's what i thought.

  • LOL exactly XD

  • He's got it. Makes sense to me

  • ...?

  • stupid

  • thats pretty cool

  • loool looks like Midgar Zolom just did a victory pose for them.

  • what a hell?

  • lols it looked like they tamed him

  • thats what i thought

  • Aha!

  • Imagine having the Midgar Zolom as a pet...good snaky snake,go and get those chocobos....

  • mad snaky! snaky CAN'T EAT Tommy! :D

  • Oops!Middy, come back and eat those MANDRAGORA'S ,you're on a vegetarian path for a month, remember? "Midgar Zolom hangs head and looks sad"

  • Zolomy, Even though they test nuclear weapons quite often, it DOESN'T mean that you should go around using your Beta attack! Shame on you, Zolomy, Shame on you!

  • oh yeah...i remember doing the same thing..

  • Hey. Do you guys notice that the Zolom attacks anyone who is highlighted by the cursor?

  • If you're talking about the hand cursor, then it really doesn't count seeing has how Midgar Zolom is already in its attack action by the time the cursor gets to the character.

Utillillia is moving the cursor over to the character that is going to be attacked (which is easily "predicted" by the direction that Zolom is pointing) to Cure the character.

  • Thank you, ulillillia. You've shown me so many glitches and bugs that I otherwise may have never known about. You have a lot of patience, dedication, and skill in finding these things and I appreciate that you took the time to upload and share your discoveries.

  • There's a point in the video, at 3:36 - 3:38 to be precise, that adds to the peculiarity of this bug. The Zolom seems to take another attack, although one was not executed and the Zolom was supposed to halve already been defeated.

  • that was probably the bio spell that was cast at the beginning

  • It could be done in 40 hours' time (based on the game clock). Just rush the game until you get the Tiny Bronco then head to my sixth leveling ground and stay there. You'll get level 99 in probably 40 hours and this is without any EXP plus materia. It's a lame leveling ground so you could be watching TV (on another nearby TV) or do sudoku puzzles. The only interaction you'll really need is holding the up arrow button for a battle and the occasional healing/materia swap.

  • i heard that with a turbo controller you can get max lvl just by getting there waiting and the turbo controller will do the job killing the snake and gaining exp.

you have to wait like a whole day so just leave it going for like 24 hrs and check on it and you can probably gain a lot of lvl

    can someone try it

  • That method is very slow. You get just 250 EXP each time. Level 98 to 99 takes over 80,000 EXP which means you'll have to defeat 320 of these taking roughly 5 hours' worth to get. Even on disk 1, I can get that 80,000 in the matter of 40 minutes and still need very little interaction with the game.

  • do you have a vid

  • I don't have a video of this kind of thing, involving the snake that is. First off, I don't have a turbo controller either. However, I do have a video of level 99 in disk 1 (see "sixth leveling grounds").

  • i have a video where im leveling in the south of mideel in disc 1 i reached lvl 60 there in 3 hrs and mastered the materias that i currently have.

  • i started a new game a couple of days ago, im already level 21 at the beginning, VERY SLOW, but well worth it.

  • ulillillia, my guess is that you spammed the battle area in junon for quite a while to gett to level 99 before disc 2

  • Actually, while I made this, I didn't you could you do that with Junon. Rather, if you're curious, see my "fifth leveling grounds" video for the place where I first did it and my "sixth leveling grounds" video for my current place where I do it, which is a lame one (you can watch TV while doing it).

  • im on disk 3 lvl 99 and other pple lower lvl then 99

  • i have all charecters at lvl 69 without a gameshark

  • How about level 99 on disk 1 without a gameshark? I've actually never been past disk 1 without someone on level 99.

  • What a boring battle, but that is very weird. I just run pass that darn snake. I could defeat it, but it's just a pain for me to do so.

  • This is how you defeat it. Of course, you'd also use the back row, something I frequently forget about. This is the easiest way to defeat it, and it's possible to do it with game-starting stats and levels.

  • dude,weak. i have cloud at 75, red x at70 and barret at 55

  • you must be later in the game then.

  • correct......wait,wrong vid.sorry!

  • you are like lvl 14 at this point in the game, jesus corey

  • I killed that zolom in 1 hit and the marsh is a great place to train ur skills

  • Unless you're doing 4000 damage in one hit, of which I strongly doubt, you're likely doing this rather late in the game, after using my 6th leveling grounds, for example.

  • heh true that. Im just got done with Temple of Ancients, and Deathblow with cloud + nailbat at level 50 only did 2700-3000 lol.

  • Did you max the strength stat, morphing "heavy tank" with the morph materia obtained in the Temple of the Ancients? This helps a lot. Level also plays a role so increase that. At level 99 with maxed strength, you can be doing about 8000 damage.

  • Euhm, cloud+lvl99+ultima weapon= 9999 damage here:p

  • u can get 9999 damage whiout being level 99

  • Eh? I get 9999 frequently from the 5 in 6 chance of a critical hit, and guaranteed if I use deathblow (which has a 100% chance of working, except on enemies that are hard to hit with a normal physical attack). Maxing the luck is very nice for that! I've never been past disk 1 without someone being on level 99....

  • You can just run across the marsh if you time it right,

  • i did that.... but i want to return back again. LOLLL

  • the first time i playded the ffVII , i was boring to read the titles and i was thinking that i have to kill than take a chocobo... :P so i killed it but in the exit from the cave , so the zolom dead by Shephiroth .... stupid ha?

  • Don't you mean the first entrance to the cave? I find that a bit weird. Sure Sephiroth could've done that, but with level 10 characters, of all things, it's still entirely possible to take on that snake and defeat it, almost solo.

  • if you gain bolt 2, fire 2 and ice 2 you can beat him... i have done it the first time i had to reach the entrance of the cave.

a friend of mine, in FFVIII, his 3 main characters outside the balamb garden {the first time went the outside world, he reached 80 lvl. He went to Ifrit's cave 80lvl... he is so crazy....

  • I found my FF8 so I could play it, but there's only one problem: I need another memory card. I got a 6-pack from Ebay, but all of them are defective....

  • the cd is original? i mean if it isn't a copy.

If yes, then you can play it in PS2. then you can surelly find a 2 memory card.

I bought ps1 only for FFVII, then VIII... PS2 for XII :P

  • It is the original but that's not the problem. The two problems are, from what I've heard, you have to have a PS1 memory card for any PS1 game, and, I don't have a PS2. Sure I have PS2 game videos (Shrek the Third and FF12), I borrowed my sister's PS2, giving her the Gamecube in the meanwhile. I can just get more off Ebay, but much more closely watch the seller's terms and conditions. The ones I got are a brand called "HIP gear".

  • Hmmmm... then your prob is that you don't have a PS1 memory..? Or you have one, but it hasn't free space..?

  • I have two PS1 memory cards, both are completely full. I don't have enough room for Jumping Flash 1, but I don't really need that anyway. I can just go buy some.

  • or erase, a couple of squares...

also why you arent using Haredge?

  • ahahahah that actually made me laugh... when he was spinning... it looks like he was doing a victory dance with you guys to over exxagurate your win :D

  • I killed it many times when I was breeding Chocobo. It was fading slowly, but I never sawed such thing.

  • It can take a few tries as certain conditions have to be met in order for it to work.

  • this happend to me the other day and I wo like thats weird and now its explained so yeah

  • its not a glich it is just hard to do so.

    I have done it once

  • It does qualify as a glitch, class 2 if I recall. With all FF games that I've seen, this is the only enemy where it still remains after the finishing battle events (the victory dance).

  • you lov mathematical problems? im gonna see if i can get this to happen

  • strangely, most bosses will take around 8 seconds to dissapear,i like the sound;pa-a-a-a-o-o-o-owaiii

  • Man, it's refreshing hearing the music at that speed again. I'm playing this on PSP atm, with an eboot I created from a PAL FF7 game. Everything works except the music is fast. I have a video if anyone wants to check it out.

What was the Golom's HP count when you last checked it? It looked like it was well below 2000. Maybe the stardust ray, coupled with another 250 of poison was enough to kill the Golom, but the animation didn't work?

  • Unless it's the FF7 for the PS1 and using the actual console and game disk rather than an emulator, I can't help with technical problems. The Midgar Zolom (if that's what you're referring to by "Golom") has 4000 HP. Sensing and the damage done by poison are two ways to find out. Poison does 125 damage each time and that's 1/32 of the max HP. To find the max HP, multiply by 125 by the reciprocal, 32, and you get 4000. This works for any enemy that can get poisoned. Gravity also works.

  • Red X as a healer? Pathetic.

  • Level and/or stats influence how much HP is restored, most likely the stats (magic and magic attack in particular).

  • Red X's magic attack has never been the best.

    Yuffie or Aerith as healers.

  • In my case, not really. He (along with Cloud) was quite a bit up there, higher than even Aeris. Then again, part of this might be due to the fact I got to a rather high level early in the game (does level 99 before getting Cid say anything, as was my first play of this game?).

  • Wow n1. Being high chars does make ure stats, yet red x is probably higher than aeris at that point, seen as tho aeris sucks early on.

But aeris is more useful as a healer, her Limits make her the best healer, my advice is to lv her

  • I avoid using Aeris as much as possible, due to the story.

  • Wise choice. Even if she is used and leveled through normal gameplay, that slut gets whacked from just one, albeit strong, attack from that red dragon fight which she has to participate in. Her greatest strength, in my opinion, would be a few of her limit breaks. Fury Brand and Planet Protector are unique abilities unlike anything else in this game. Its like Entrust and um, I guess a Holy War. What do you think, ulillillia?

  • I have never seen Aeris' limits beyond level 1.... While I know how to improve the limits (defeat 80 enemies or use it about 8 times), it's only because I never play as her, unless forced on me.

  • Actually, Aeris 4th limit break can easily put her on a Aeris solo game. You just need to keep her HP up, use Great Gospel when her limit break is charged up. At the same time, stacking her with counterattack material.

  • Ice has a difficulty of 0 on getting - you have it upon first starting the game in the very first battle (along with bolt). Flare, break, and tornado come from the "contain" materia, of which the white chocobos in Mideel have (you won't see these until disk 2 after obtaining the High Wind).

  • Can somebody tell me how i can get the spells flare, break and tornado and this ICE attack? PLzPLzPLZ

  • It is entirely possible that the programmers were aware of the bug and merely decided to skip and alterations on their part, as it has no effect on gameplay. Their knowledge, and thus their decision to make no change, could be interpreted as this being their intention for the game. Hence, no bug but merely the way they wanted the game to be.

Also, your point of the video is the ending. Cutting off the first 80% would make this much easier and quicker to watch.

  • i miss your commentary videos

  • I want to see him do Ultima IV.

  • If Ultima 4 is on the SNES, then it's unlikely as I don't know where my SNES went to - I haven't seen it in at most 5 years. If I had my SNES, you'd have seen a video of a glitch with Super Mario World that I know of, a very strange one.

  • if you can't find you're snes you could always use an emulator :)

  • I very strongly prefer to avoid the emulator route, due to both legal reasons for one and weaker controls (keyboards aren't really all that useful). I don't have a joystick nor want one....

  • I don't think it's illegal IF you own the game and you own a snes... but yeah... you don't like emulators so fair enough

  • I have yet to resolve one key problem - recording from two sources at the same time (auxiliary and microphone). I have no solution.

  • Nice video.

In my many hours of playing FF7, that situation has occurred with me playing around 3 times.

Interesting to see it again =]

  • make more FF7 videos, I would appreciate them a lot =)

  • I have several planned, but I first need to get there in order to record them. More bug videos, tips and techniques, other leveling grounds (I'm just about to the fourth one then the fifth and final one), and probably a few other oddities I may encounter.

  • cool, I'll be looking forward to them

  • The fourth leveling grounds one is now available. I think the maxing of the strength stat is next, but I'm not too sure - I'll have to wait until I get to the next spot before I know with at least 95% certainty, my "standard minimum" (currently 80%)).

  • Cool!

  • lol, wow, I've never seen that before, thanks for the video!!

  • Wow, that was so cool. Yes, it was the poison. But it's a glitch 'cuz apparently the game can't comprehend it fast enough, I guess. That looked so scary and unreal!

  • I think it's from where the poison killed it, since usually when you kill the Zolom it does a long fade like most bosses (IIRC).

  • haha this could be quite scary if not known about properly
