thats actually 1940's hairstyle...

victory rolls(what this is) were used in the 40's not 50's, because of the war, women were working and needed a cute hairstyle to put thier hair up :)

This was great! I'm going to use this for homecoming. :) Quick question: my hair's medium length, so would it be OK if I straighten it lightly first then curl it? I know if you immediately straighten then curl or vice versa it doesn't work, but my hair is extremely curly, and not straightening it will be a disaster. Thanks!

yes I'd suggest apply a smoothing cream to your hair right after you wash it, wash it the night before and blowdry it straight, unless you cant then let it air dry and straighten it, then the next night curl it, it should be fine! Just make sure to use plenty of heat protection spray! Hope this helped!
