yup it's just an expansion level for HL2 - it was originally intended as a level for the game but they left it out and released it later as a stand alone level.
mine is really old 1.5ghz pentium 4 400mhz 256mb ram(extended to 368mb ram going to change the 128mb in 2nd slot to 256mb so i have 512mb ati raedon 9550 256mb shader 2.0
My system is: Celeron D 2.93Ghz Single-core 1GB DDR400 RAM 300W PSU 20" BenQ Asus 7600GS AGP 256MB If i bought a Sapphirre 2600XT 512mb AGP would i get better framerate in games? And how mouch would the framerate increase? And wich choise is better for my specs?: Sapphire 3850 AGP 512MB, Sapphire 2600XT 512MB AGP or Sapphire Radeon X1950PRO 512MB DDR3 AGP? And i might buy a new PSU.
@kniaugaudiskis 2600XT and 7600GT (the DDR3 version) are equally as fast. The 7600GS is about 30-40% slower at stock, but I OC'ed my PNY 7600GS on stock cooling with rivatuner and it now gets 8401 on 3Dmark 03. My PNY 7600GT gets 8970. So providing you own a good 7600GS, it is also about equal to a 2600XT. The 7600GT does not OC, maxing out at 9217 on 3DMark 03.
I think the X1950 PRO 512MB would be closer to your needs, my friend.I would suggest though upgrading your case and buying a spacious one for more airflow and upgrading your PSU to something between 450 watt-550 watt.(The X1950 PRO needs minimum 450 watt PSU and for 2 X1950 PRO in CROSSFIRE you will certainly need 550 watts PSU.)
hmmm, go onto systemrequirementslab com and check i your pc can run it. it scans youe system and tells you if you an run a particular game. half life 2 is incuded.
I did overclock my CPU but it was unstable so I left it at stock speed. I now have a new (much better) CPU and have been overclocking it. My latest result from the Lost Coast stress test at 1680x1050 with everything maxed out is 205fps. :)
how many fps?
sTunzyy 2 years ago
90fps but bottlenecked by the CPU
I tried this with a later system and got 120fps using the PCI-E version of the X1950XT and a Core 2 Duo.

3850 was probably the max choice, but for the price, you be your own judge.
I think 7600gs fall in same range as 2600xt 512mb.

No, 7600GS is much slower that HD2600XT. Only 7600GT may be compared to it.

What catalyst driers worked best for you in your experience over the past year? I just got a x1950 512 agp today.
I run cs 1.6 and TF2 mainly. Any idea? Thanks
delatroy 4 years ago
i used catalyst 7.6 - anything else crashed my computer. but they have new "omega" drivers now so you should use these because they are up to date.

Lol you need to overclock your CPU.
I have the same CPU, I took it from 2.4GHz to 2.9GHz... and you have a better case than me so your cooling will be sufficient...
Oh and I've never overclocked before but I learned how to do it in one night, easy.
