yeah that nintendo wi-fi usb cable is a wireless router made for the ds, and by the wi-fi means wireless got it, so u are using a wireless connection. So there

No, you do not. You can have a perfectly fine wired internet connection. but for the wired internet, you'd need to buy the Nintendo Wi-fi Usb Connector.

Just plug in your usb port of your computer, and that's it.
