If you disregard all the feminism, this video has a lot of valid concepts. That is the beauty of freedom of thought. I see too many people who have been abused, say they hate the abusers, never want to be like them, yet instead of working through it and learning how to let go, they fill themselves with hate and become what they fear/hate the most, abuse others (not guilty for what the abuser went through) and then justify the abuse by saying they are just fighting back. Also, she believes that a friend and I tried to murder her through suicide because we advised her on a diet for her IBS, because that's something only abusers do.
She was hospitalized (mental institution) after she attempted to hang herself, but when she came out, she was full of even more hatred, claiming we had tried to murder her and has tried her best to "break" my other friend, who was abused and in her crowd of abusers, but turned away from them. They claim they are only defending themselves and bullying isn't wrong in their case. My friend is working through his probs and making something of himself instead of spewing hate and abuse.

I agree and think most others would to that the end goal would to be to have a world where people are treated more as humans than their sex/gender. How we achieve that goal is debatable. There seems to be more exploitation and abuse of woman in the world, especially when it comes to things like rape which are predominantly female issues. Its hard for people to talk about a "human-centered" society until there is more gender equality. And radical behavior helps to get discussion.

Think about the higher pay for men, and how men dominate positions of power in the world...is any of that necessary? I can't see how. women (mostly) can choose who they reproduce with, either by selection or birth protection. therefore it follows that if women choose men that are smart or strong or both, there will be more of the selected trait in the next generation. it's natural selection.

Well yes, but the same can be said of men. While (as a rule) men are indeed generally more promiscuous than women, they too nowadays have access to birth control products, and they too can (and do) make a decision as to who they start a family with, and they can choose to either stick with that family or abandon it. The choice is not at all one-sided. I highly recommend Ridley's book, btw. It's a fascinating piece of evolutionary biology and psychology.

A brilliant and moving. The idea that people have such horrible crimes done against them and against their womenhood. Then they turn this negativity around to serve and help others (and heal themselves) is a touching and moving thought. If you disregard all the feminism, this video has a lot of valid concepts. That is the beauty of freedom of thought. I do. A person I know hates certain groups of people so badly because her abuser came from such group, that if she sees herself doing anything that the group does, she believes she's turning into her abuser (already abuses others now), such as eating healthy or going to bed earlier. Apparently that makes her an abuser in her mind. Also, she believes that a friend and I tried to murder her through suicide because we advised her on a diet for her IBS, because that's something only abusers do.

She was hospitalized (mental institution) after she attempted to hang herself, but when she came out, she was full of even more hatred, claiming we had tried to murder her and has tried her best to "break" my other friend, who was abused and in her crowd of abusers, but turned away from them. They claim they are only defending themselves and bullying isn't wrong in their case. My friend is working through his probs and making something of himself instead of spewing hate and abuse.

So security is something that is false, making us insecure when we strive for it, but then she goes on to tell us what real security is and how to achieve it by using what seems to be her own personal morality. If we followed all these ideological things that lead to real security would we not find ourselves at the same place, insecure.
And what happened to equality? I will respect women and treat them with dignity but honoring them as our most precious resource... c'mon if a man said that...

I think it is a great talk. Real security is being positive and doing what is in your heart. Insecurity is fear and it hurts you and the others around you. We must stand up for what we believe in.

I'm a sexually submissive male and I believe women are superior to men and I'm an American, and because of the way I am I get more shit from women than all of the dominant, abusive men, so, I don't know, I think women should try being nice to the nice people before they start complaining.

In principle I agree. Girls like assholes.
However in your case I wonder if the fact that you think women are superior to men makes it only normal that women (people?) would not respect you.
Girls who gravitate towards douchebags are beneath me and unworthy of my time. Girls who respect themselves enough to expect that they will be treated well, and who will treat me well in return even as I am nice to them? Different story.
Be good to yourself. Treat others well while expecting the same.

I think since girls view guys who treat them as assholes as above them, that guys who don't treat girls as assholes are viewed as beneath them, and the girl ends up treating a perfectly good intentioned individual like the assholes should be treated...
Robodouche, I have yet to find more than a few girls that respect themselves enough to expect to that they will be treated well...I have not given up hope though

The only women who "need" to be dominated are those who are of dependent personalities or trained to be so, which is mainly in patriarchal societies. All women who are strong in personality frighten the assholes or the men who "need" to dominate away or they get harassed or even raped in order or the "man" to be dominant because he can't stand a strong woman. That is MY personal experience. Many men never learn how to be a partner and a friend to their female partner. It's about power.

Since your response was full of insults it's easy to see that it is not meant to pursue the truth of the matter, but to illustrate your personal opinion and if it was "the truth" then you wouldn't have been offended and gotten defensive and needed to insult us to disprove our opinions and help to validate your own. Even if my previous comment was ignorant, it didn't help to prove an irrelevant point that guys are good at being assholes.

This speech made some good points however, in my opinion almost all of what she says contradicts what she represents as being the meaning of her speech. I percieve she is saying people should not try to cling to a side, then to "demonstrate" or set an "example" she is simply clinging to the other side.
