  • I still say "woah" each and everytime I watch this. I have yet to see him play regular guitar in person. The few times I've seen him perform has been with his harp guitar. I LOVE his harp guitar music, but I've been almost ACHING to see him play this particular guitar, or even his other guitar with the sustainer (Vigier I think?).

  • whoa

  • I'm not sure how aware you all are of how varied Tim's music is, but he is AMAZING... Actually. there are no words to describe it. You really have to experience his music live to truly appreciate his talent. I have seen him in person, and all I can say is his music is just breathtaking. Not just his harp guitar music, but also his heavier works on the fretless guitar (pictured in this video).

  • He makes that look easy, it is'nt.

  • @DystopianEmpire01 I want to learn how to play guitar SO badly, but I don't know if it's going to happen. I've been trying to play my kids' GUITAR HERO game and am failing miserably. LOL!!!

  • For all Tim Donahue fans: Don't forget to check out his Facebook page! There are many up to date photos, a few videos, and quite a few comments and updates left by Tim himself. Since there are a few Tim Donahues out there, be sure to keep an eye open for the page with a photo of Tim with his brand new signature production harp guitar. ENJOY!!!

  • This is interesting. I remember hearing about Tim Donahue back in the mid 80's, but back then, he was mostly doing new age-y type stuff.

  • Is it just me or do Japanese announcers in general seem to be considerably more enthusiastic about their job than most American or British announcers?

  • @Kohntarkosz

    Love you for this comment

  • fretores guitar ! xD

  • This is really cool. A lot of fretless playing just meandering wank. and a lot of guitar playing for that matter actually lol

  • he's famous in Japan, and very well known for his CD 'Madmen & Sinners' around the world. Many people in the States have his cd's. He has worked with people, like James LaBrie of 'Dream Theater', Paul Rodgers, Kelly Hanson, Joe Satriani, Vernon from Living Colour, just to name a few.

  • is he famous?

  • i dated him after high school sharon

  • UHH!!! I LOVE how expressive he is. It just goes to show that he's not afraid to PLAY his guitar.

  • NOPE... NOT boring at ALL... he's VERY expressive and AMAZING on his harp guitar. I've seen him in person and have a VERY extended library of his music. Just check out his 'Madmen & Sinners' cd. You'll be AMAZED!!!

  • You know.. over all the celebrities I go crazy over, I'd pick Tim to spend the day with... whether it be to listen to/watch him play his wonder music, or just hang out with him. I'd pick HIM... :) His music takes my breath away.

  • A true musician ALWAYS puts expression into playing ... take Steve Vai for example. Now HE is expressive beyond belief. Physical expression, in my opinion shows your love for your music/instrument.

  • This dude sure knows how to put his body into it! Awesome!

  • NOT GAY!!! I know him personally. And YES he is facially expressive. SO WHAT! So am I and I play violin.

  • its a great guitar player. Its stupid to post bad comment just because this man play with feeling and do some strange orgasmic face. If you know a guitar player like this one who dont have expression in the face, let me know i'm curious to see a zombie.

  • sorry my english is a bit bad...i just mean thats a great musician and he can do face he want its like that when you play whit passion.

I do it too i do painting, drawing, music and i play several lead guitar too. So i know what is it when you have feelings...you cant control your face...like an orgasm.

  • Mark Knopfler is, well, not as, weird with the faces, I put this Tim Donahue in the same category as Pat Matheny, very good, but just, damned boring...

  • There are musicians who work on the audience connection aspect of things-and then people who just go straight into right-brain and are at the point where they create on the fly onstage every night. There you are often looking at virtuoso status, taking risks, in the flow; Stevie Ray Vaughn could get like that as well. That's what I see looking at Tim Donahue. That's why a band wants a good front man or woman who handles the audience connection. Or else like you say, it can get boring!

  • nice tags dude

  • He's not really into video. I think he's shy. I've seen him in person and he's AWESOME. He's done 100's of VERY successful guitar clinics around the country. He really is AWESOME, and cute too (I'm female BTW).

  • cool , more a master here than he was in the demonstration i just saw , he was plaing out of tune 40 % of the time . This one is 100 times better ! Hes very hot on fretless !

  • awesome!
